Drag race gearing
#1
Hey all,

the gauntlet has been thrown down and its of to the track we go.

06 Busa verses late model triumph

the last time i took my busa drag racing was about a month after i got it and thats all it ever did..shame on me however..

I do remember that getting out of the hole was never as friendly as my old gsx 1400.. it was just a matter of 4 k revs and pop it..

The busa didnt like that and felt that it needed a gob full of rev to get it going witht he obvious clutch shudder and bogging..

Since then i've got my pc3 with standard busa map
power commander shifter kill switch
atre
and pc3 usb dash board. (Bling factor)

What gearing cogs/sets would be better to drop in for street / drag racing combination...???

I would really like to do this Trophy at the end of the day.

If your racing against a Triumph then dont worry about gearing and all that crap.

Just disconnect 3 of you spark plug leads to give him a small chance of winningPi_tongue

Bugger it. I will be different. Struggle through 10 or so runs at the track. Pop out the occasional 10 second ET. Really have no idea what i am doing and then purchase full 4:2:1 exhaust, PC, K & N filter, lower front and back, dyno and anything else i can think of. Rather struggle on a 9 second bike than a 10 second bike. Oh well, I have never been the most patient person in the world................Peace out!!!!!!!!!!!!!Idiot2Idiot2

Err maybe more practice, it will fall into place, sometimes we all are just try to hard, before you know it you will be running back to back mid 9.5s

Thanks all

Im a bit of a heavy lad..125 kilo

and my best timed run was only 11.50 but i dare say i was trying to be soft on the clutch..

My bikes still standard height, and suspensions fairly hard (Ractech springs etc) to suit my weight

How much crap can the clutch take tho with out burning it out or turning it inside out ?...(shell sx mineral oil is in the bike ) 06 red black model

I use my bike as my daily transport and i so rarely crank the the right wrist around to encounter the bikes full potential, so the drags are going to be even more fun now since the bikes well run in

More practice you need to aim for low 1.5s

Just lowering strap & dogbones will help you keep the front down, but do both at once, putting larger sprocket on the rear will just make it wheel stand more

Where are you from
