quakker yes i agree with what you were trying to do..ask questions.

when the tenth anny was first posted it seemed it was done and dusted that it would be at tarthra no questions asked.
also one member was asking for tarmac passes ect.

it was a forgone conclusion in the first place..

no one else had a choice.

putting two other places up not as appealling as tarthra.

i,m not against tarthra mind you..my point is the way it was gone about.
non democratic..
why not in the first place say 'hey we are thinking of going to tarthra, great spot and doing runs down the airfield'
wouldnt that be a great idea.!

yes it would but its the way is has been sneakly done..

tarthra is a lovely place i personally would have liked it to be more central FOR ALL STATES.but it seems not to be.

yep i guess i will be yelled at for voicing an opinon.oh well build a bridge

Hi there,

If I remember correctly this process started months ago with calls for locations from anybody. I remember at the time there was some debate over some locations, the most frequently mentioned were sent to another poll as above. I think plans are being made for Tathra because it has come across as the most popular. The airstrip was mentioned as a suggestion. If airports are the go, we can tell Qantas to fuggoff for a day and do high speed runs at Mascot, and hold the Anniversary ride in the city. Lol3

Kawa, I have the utmost of respect for you mate but I dont understand what is going on. I hope we can get back to the old Kawa soon mate. We have gone to Jindy a number of times, two things I think may have resulted in the drop of numbers, and they are the fact that Jindy has been done a number of times, and the other one is the close proximity time wise to the Snowy Ride. I've only done two Hayabusa runs, but have been to the Snowy ride 5 times, just because of the dates.

Out of curiosity, were the 99 Hayabusa's released in Nov/Dec 98 or something? I'm just trying to figure out why the last quarter is so popular.

Yes Graham. The 99 model busa was produced from July 98 onwards and released to the market in some countries in about October that year as the 1999 model.
The first ones came to the OZ market on about the 1st of MAY 1999.
A few were here earlier but they were marketing and promo bikes.

Every year since the following year model is released at about October.

Thats frog shit Ray. The time of year is the ONLY factor why me and "The Woman" won't be there, regardless of where ever the destination.

what time of the year would u like Gassick?

End of January would be better for me personally because it is the quietest time at work. 90% of the tradies are on break!!!! It's a shame but thats the way it is!!!!!!
Woman,where's my wallet?

i think it should be sometime between now and Dec31...
next year would be a 11year anniversary...
...just my thoughts(because my baby is turning 10yrs youngHappy_bday)

... question? how do you find out your bike 'build number'

The VIN number is on the compliance plate.
The last 5 digits indicate the VIN number as registered into Australia when the bikes are received at the Suzuki Warehouse.
There is no actual build number shown on each bike.

i reckon we should try and organise to hire some of those sumo suit things for the anniversary run- i reckon it would be hilarious to see some passionate busa riders all liquored up taking each other on. if the way this thread is heading is any indication, it would be great!

This isn't going down too well. How about we tender for venues again? Sorry if it sounds like upsetting some, but we need agreement on the most popular venue. May I suggest that the poll be reset & suggesged venues added via posts over the next month. At least any critic would then be silenced by the poll result, what ya think?

Gnarbunkle I can see what you're trying to do and I applaud the suggestion. Under 'other' circumstances it might be appropriate... but this whole selection process (for both dates and venues) was very transparent, democratic, well organised, well managed and well publicised. Everybody had their say, everyone was given the same amount of notice, every vote counted.

Some members got all excited about one particular venue and started making side plans involving an airstrip. Great idea and good on them for planning ahead. It shows they're committed and looking forward to the event. But their exuberance doesn't mean that the selection process has been subverted. After all, they only got one vote each... same as the rest of us. Voting isn't closed and a final decision is yet to be made. No-one got all upset when members started talking about Mudgee did they? Where did these claims of bias come from... and what are they based on?

As far as Jindy is concerned... in the original thread about venues there is some discussion about moving it away from that venue. Kawa might not have seen that. But in the end and for whatever reason, people didn't vote for Jindy.

Had the process been shoddy or lax, then sure I'd be supportive of starting over. But it wasn't.
