Hey Bazz, saw one coming down the freeway yesterday (sun) was moving along ok but he did look like a bit of a dick,as my son says
they are like fat chick's ,be alright to ride but you wouldn't want you're
mates to see you on one.(No not being FATIST my wife is large & she
get's it,my son's joke i mean)

I reckon it would be a good grandpa machine, just needs a turbo'd Busa motor.
I'm curious to see what all the fuss is about so i booked in for a go, seen one on a ride once, they smoke up pretty good

A guy in my club has one, he was one of the first in Australia to get one, probably due to the fact that he owns a contract mining company...he also claims his brother or brother in law was the first to import them into Australia, think he lives in Tasmania from memory. How true this is, I dunno.

Been on a few rides where he has brought it along. Gets along pretty well. Not so much in the dirt though, traction control stuffed him in the dirt drags, something I though you would be able to turn off.

A guy in townsville tried to sell me one when I was getting the Rocket III remapped, I told him that I would consider buying one, if it was for my wife. He stopped trying to sell it after that statement...

But yeah, they go pretty well, looks pretty comfortable, but I don't think I would take my helmet off if I was riding around on one, someone might recognise me

seen them and walked rite past it, i mean whats the point? just buy a suzuki swift and cut the roof off. the whole point of a bike is leaning and geting thru the stoped traffic in the city. i just dont see the point.

i've ridden one :) my mate has a yellow one.
he brought it to tazzie, he was doing quite well on it.

BUT, if you have not ridden one, and you usually ride 2 wheels, it takes ALOT of getting used to.

when you first get on yoru like OMG what is this thing doing.... its exactly opposite to a bike, yet it has handlebars!

admittedly though, when i jumped on we were on the side of a narrow mountain pass in tazzie, no guardrails, staring at a rock face on my left and a sheer drop on my right!

also mega wheelspin, and the front wheels start lifting/getting real light at speeds over 150km/h!
my mate says he spoke to the canam dealer in smithfield and he wants them to put some sort of spoilers on the front

their first reaction was " you shoudlent be going that fast" to which my mate SCOFFED, what you mean? what happens on the track, or if " how dare me" break the the law and speed???

what are the tyres speed rated at?

anyhow, take one for a spin, its good to see what its like.

dont knock it until you have ridden one
they are " different" you cant compare it to a bike or a trike.

Its More like a tiny convertible car with handlebars, but with the freedom and wind in the hair and the throwing around feeling of a bike.

Had a test ride for about 1hr or so,
fair bit of free play in steering, jittery over bumps, scary over taking at speed you have to use smaller steering inputs the faster you go.
Almost got cleaned up pulling away from a t intersection, had a gap
opened the thotle and the traction control kicked in almost stalling the bike.

was told by a owner that he had to take his back due to the steering free play, they fitted a new steering rack problem solved.

They rev high at free way speed and there is plenty of complaints on the
Can am forum re fuel consumption and vague steering.
on the plus side, most owners say after some time on the trike they fall in love with them.

I test rode one for a couple of hours and had a ball. Tight twisties or Canberra's round abouts, the ride was an upper body workout. Head over the wheel in the direction you're turning and jamb the bars that way and hold them. Lot of fun, and agree with the above - twitchy at high speed requiring little inputs.

Certyainly more of a fad than serious alternatives.

Would be great for fallen brothers and sisters who end up paraplegics, though anchoring their bodies so they could get direction changes sorted could raise issues, at least they can't fall off. Just a thought.
