What sort of Tank Protectors are you using?

I've shelled out the $$$ for my new Busa and now need to protect her a bit. I have a black K9 and want to keep her discrete and stock looking. I am guessing just a solid black Keiti gel protector would be the go, but was curious what everyone else was using. Those carbon fibre ones that wrap around the sides of the tank a bit further would do a good job stopping scratches from your legs but they would also cover up part of the stripes.

I have the Bagster full tank cover.. Love it! Only the Bagster tank bag that clips into it is a crappy shape and digs into my sternum. Got rid of the bag and use a magnetic tank bag.. Fuel tank is like new underneath

The aftermarket Suzuki half tank bra is real nice and would not clash with the black of the K9.
They are only about $50.00 from the dealer as an accessory.
You can dolly it up a bit by painting the embossed Kanji symbol with enamel paint as well.

I have a Motografix gel tank pad on my K8 and protects well.
I'll pop photos up tonight when I get home.

I have one of the 1/2 tank bras and although it probably makes it look a bit of an old frart's bike it does the job well , it looks good on solid the red 07 too .

I put some of the clear protective film on the other day. I cut it out to look the Vieti gel pads (from memory) and it came up quite good considering that I did it in less than 5 mins so that I could go on ride with some mates. It is only a temporary fix until I find something better and more permanent. I might even try it again but this time without all of my fingerprints on the underside - they look nasty.

I use a clear film called the tankslapper.Buy it direct from the states for about $30 delivered. This stuff is fantastic as it is easy to remove any time with no residue as it sticks to the tank with water comes with side and centre pieces.Dont know how to post the link but you should check it out.

To avoid the fingerprints, make sure you start with clean hands. Mix about 5ml of baby shampoo in a small spray bottle with water. Spray the solution onto your fingertips and the area you are sticking the film to. Make sure your fingers stay wet with the solution and peel the film off the backing and lay it up on the area. Spray some more solution on top of the film. The solution will allow you to move the film around until you get it where you want and then use a small rubber squeedgee to work the excess solution from under the film from the centre out.

As long as you keep your fingers wet with the solution you should not get any fingerprints under the film.
