speed camera question

hi all

Was dropping the apprentice home on the back of the bike
(pain in the arse 22 yr hasnt got a licence,younger generation grrr)

anyway one of those 4wd on the side of the road speed camera type set ups(it was an older metalic brown patrol type so didnt think much about it) next minute flash.. oh shit looked down doing between 75-90

now my speedo was reading 83 but i have 1 tooth less on the front which i hope makes the speedo under read...not the other way around in a sixty zone,Truthfully i thought it was an eighty

just a quick question the flash definately came from ahead of me, now as i dont have a front number plate did it also get my rear..

i might be looking at the new gen 3 model

You will find out within the next 2 weeks :) - but the cops up that way are very sneeky - let us know if you get "THAT" letter in the mail

couldn't really honestly help you, the last 4 or so I've gone through were flash in front of me - so would of gotten the front of the car...

The new speed cameras actually have a beam beside the vehicle, and determines how fast you go through it. They can go through 3-4 lanes of traffic and still nail people pretty effectively apparently. From what I have heard they are trying to phase out cameras that shoot from the front, as it can be a distraction to the driver, especially at night time.

But yeah, if the flash was in front of you, wouldn't be sweating on it too much

On my 00 model, with one tooth off the front the speedo reads nearly 10% fast.

ie 83 would be around 75 on mine actual from what I can tell.

Be careful. Over here in the west the pricks have them setup to take the photo of the rear of the vehicle.

Where were you in relation to the 4x4 when the flash went off Al? The flash on those vehicles is mounted to the bull bar and the camera in the passanger seat shooting through the windscreen. If you hadn't passed when you saw the flash then your prob fine. If you were past when the flash went, it could be you and the flash ahead of you was a reflection in your mirrors??

touch wood so far no ticket in the mail...flash was definately in front of me to the right hand.. keep an eye open for a gold ptrol hanging around tallebudgera rd just past the servo next crn after the rural produce store shooting northbound traffic( 4x4 facing southwest if that makes sense.
