Love the Beast

I just watched eric banas new movie about his life long relationship with his xb falcon coupe.Ive gotta say it brought a tear to my eye,it goes a long way in explaining peoples passion and relationship with their machine and the strong bonds of friendship that are formed from those sharing the same passion.I grew up lying underneath cars with my dad and built cars of my own with mates as well.A one eyed passion most motor mechanics don,t understand, that keeps you holding onto cars and bikes that can be technically inferior to the latest and greatest, but have shared some of lifes fondest memories with you.Unlike a pet they dont die if you keep fixing them, although crashing them does take alot of wind out of you and makes it harder to rediscover the love, but given time it does come back.It certainly struck a cord with me and was good vindication that how i feel about my machinery is not unhealthy.Gotta go and do some polishing.Drool

Well there you go! by the trailers I have seen, it looks like a rather naff doco, but maybe there is something more in it???
So Glenn, is it a 'go to the movies and see it' recommend or, 'wait till it comes out on DVD'?

for me it was goosebumps and a few happy tears.Just so happens my first year at bathurst as a 5 year old was in 1977 when the fastback fords went 1-2.It has a fair bit of targa footage and i thought its done well.It does have guys talking like guys though so the odd swearing makes you think its pretty unscripted.bana is a bit like mick doohan in how his success has allowed him and his childhood mates to enjoy and afford the things they could only dream of whenever the time allows to hang out with his lifelong mates.Good core friendships that lifes journey takes second place to.I,m a gear head and watching a 600hp 408ci ford do targa tasmania was worth the entry fee.what a work of art that whole car was.

It wasn't art after he face planted it into the rock wall - too many schmackos in his gut my guess Ghastly
