I got to the stage with my old Copper one (which I still Smitten) but to chuck buckets loads of money at a old bike would just have be a waste of money so I decided to started fresh and go again Boobies4

Guys
I Have them both
They never offered me a good trade, so I kept the 05, wasn't going to give it away, to good of a bike. So every odd weekend I take it out.and have some fun. I Just don't let Gen 11 see me ride the Gen1.One day when I get sick of Paying the extra rego, I will grow up and sell to a good owner.

It's funny, because before I owned one I admired the Busa for it's performance but thought that it was one fugly bike. And to be honest, I still do think it is ugly compared to my Z1000...

As for Gen 1 v Gen 2 I prefer the Gen 2 looks over the Gen 1, but only just. I think the dash and the rear are way better on the Gen 2 and, as I am shallow and fickle, that would be enough to swing it over to the Gen 2 for me if that was the case. To be honest I'm still not 100% sure how I bought the Gen 2, considering I had a huge boner for the B King for about a year and could have had either...... not that it matters as every time I get on the Busa it puts a grin on my face and that's all I care about!!

Haha now its the copper he might trade, before it was the 07.

Mate I reckon go for the best trade, holding onto 3 x Gen.1 is a bit silly me reckons.

Having said that, it was mentioned how smooth the Gen.2 is........ermm thats why I prefer to keep my Gen.1. If it was smoothness I wanted I wuda got the Blackbird in '99 (read up History page on front website) but I wanted the "animal" the "beast" and thats what I got. Ive taken a Gen.2 bike for a spin and yea all nice and smooth but it aint the beast my copper is.

But Rod Id say yeah go for it and go for the colour you always wanted and I think that was white and no not the red but the blue/white.

How much have you spent on yours then Glen, your motor probaly cost more that my change over for a new Gen2 and thats not counting your new front end & brakes, swinging arm etc

Motor cost approx the same as changeover price including pipe. All the other bits were already on there and i wasnt prepared to go back to stock brakes suspension etc, etcRemember my bike had radial mount brakes and ohlins forks before the gen2 came out,a gen1 didn,t really need them i just wanted them.revalved forks and good pads and rotors is sufficient for most.If you had even a mild motor like dads in ruffys bike you,d still get a gen2 beater for less than changeover price, most are afraid to lay a spanner on their bikes and want suzuki accountability when they break it.My bike is definately not a return on investment bike, its built to perform far better than oem and that costs lots more than oem.If you want value for money i,d run any gen2 with a bike like ruffys one with a motor like dads one around a track or in a straight line and still have money in my pocket.buying a gen2 is an easy and instant performance upgrade, thats why most do it.I,m not most, the road less travelled has its rewards.
