2000 Busa's RPM
#1
Hi All,

How do I adjust the RPM, (does it need adjustment) mine has gone down from standard 1200 rpm at idleing to 800 rpm and this is causing bike stop and re-start for some time in the morning when I am about to leave to work.

May be its telling me not to go to work......Lol2

Even when hot the idle rpm is 800 to 850 which is low. The pull switch or choke on the handle needs to be moved more then 50% to get it to around 1200 rpm.

Is there a setting which needs to be adjusted?

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Bill,

On the 99/2000 the engine idle screw is just near the engine oil cap. For 2001 and above it is a nurled nob under the tank.

Unless a previous owner has removed the remote adjuster on a 99/00 model.

The best idle speed is about 1100rpm when hot.
