Black K9 - which colour Micron exhaust?
#1
Hi all, For a black K9, which colour Micron GP Sport cans would you go for? Choices are Satin, polished or black.

Here is a link to the UK Micron site that has pictures of both satin & black on a blue/black K8.

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm stuck between the "all black stealth mode" or the contrast of satin silver to break all of the black up. I'm definitely not interested in polished cans as I've been there done that with too many bikes with wire wheels, stainless exhausts, polished engine casings etc.

Maybe leaning more towards the satin silver but was hoping someone out there might have some pics of a black busa with either of these coloured pipes on there.

Don't go half measures with slip-ons. Get a full system to get proper weight saving and breathing.
Check my black K9

I'm a big fan of the twin can look on a busa.
The mid range torque is a real bonus and the sound is a lot better I reckon.
I like the idea of shiny cans on a black bike but the matt black would be very stealthy too.

P.S. Having seen Cheeky's K9 black busa for the first time, I gotta say it is by far my favourite colour on the GEN II bikes. (Closely followed by the K8 blue of course - although on the road, the blue one is faster).

The Microns do sound great... but I prefer the Yoshi R55 full system... best looking/sounding exhaust available IMHO (without being too loud). Comes in a great Hayabusa "signature series" as well. I've heard the similar looking Brocks and it's great but too loud for me.

And the less weight the better on these heavyweights.

I'd upgrade from my R77 if the dollar wasn't so weak.

I do have K8 orange with satin Microns - not too bad. Hopefully these pics helps you a bit to make right decision:

Thanks for the pictures Vmatti. I have just ordered a new black K9 with the satin Microns. It should all arrive this Friday. I can't wait, except for the fact that there is a huge cyclone hanging around off the coast due to hit any day now - not the best riding conditions.

By the way, what sort of seat is that? When I rode a Busa for the first time last week, the seat was the one main thing that I thought let it down.

http://www.tobinseats.com/ Looks like the seat you might be after

I know a few people have taken their seats to upholstery places and got their seat modified, seems pretty simple and relatively inexpensive to do.

The other option is an airhawk. I got one for mine, and after stuffing around with the pressure to get it just right, was a worthwhile purchase..

Hi,
Actually the seats were modified one of the 'busa' guy here in Finland - has done quite plenty of those. Original seats are used as a basis. Looks good, feels good...

Thanks for all of your replies and opinions. I got my new black K9 the other week with the satin Microns and it looks & sounds sweet. They look like they came with the bike. Even people having a look at my bike when I pull up somewhere think they are stock pipes but also comment on how great they look. I am rapped with them.
