Thanks all (especially Cheeky)
As for keeping my nails nice. It's harder than you think! I work assembling electronics(Diodes, Resistors, soldering, crimpng, pouring epoxy etc)and then messing with bike also I have to have them done about one a week(yes they are store bought) On that subject, I had what SRAD says is one the most painful injuries as a result.(beat up hands. blood guts gore broken bones don't bother him but damaged hands make him woozy!Idiot2) We were racing in Hitchcock my first year. I was really having trouble getting off of the starting line so SRAD told me pin the throttle drop the clutch stay forward on the bike. Well I did. It came up in a big wheelie so I chopped the throttle then when the tire touched down I pinned it again It came right back up I chopped the throttle again and this time when the front came down it started to headshake. Before I knew it I was on the ground and the bike was sliding away. When I got my gloves off I had torn the fingernail completely off my little finger! And SRAD was right that was alot worse than the broken bone in my foot! So in Girl talk
RoadRacing = NO LONG nails!
I guess if you noticed the nails then you probably noticed the hands. I have long skinny hands and fingers so that makes it even harder to find gloves. If the fingers fit length then the gloves are huge if the glove fits the fingers are too short.

Hey All!
Hope things are going good for everyone. Prayers for the victims of the Fires there. The weather here in Texas was great this week! 80's and 90's so I got to Ride my GSXR-750 to work every day!
We have been pretty busy what with building a new Motorcycle shop in our backyard. It's 18ft X 20ft and we are doing all of the work ourselves trying to save some money.

Somehow This got slipped into the building construction purchases.

So thats all coming along nicely.

I do have a new surprise for everyone.
Your all going onboard at the Texas Mile!
SRAD got a new GoPro onboard digital camera for his birthday. We did a litle testing with it and it looks like its going to work great.
We did a few short clips with it mounted on his RC51 on the side the Gas Tank and the tail. Then a few shots with it on my GSXR-750. Most of the clips were shot after work at 6pmish but one was shot of a fellow worker at lunch and it seems to be the best. We are planning on running this on the HeavyBus at The Texas Mile and posting up the footage for everyone. In the meanwhile here's a little clip.

OK dumb blonde moment! It took me a second to catch that clever little joke! So here's a REAL question. In standard cars we drive with our left hand and shift with our right hand, I assume it's reversed for you guys. It just seems weird shifting left handed! Do you get many US cars there?
What was that car that Mad Max drove?
Sorry just curious

Yes we shift with our left hands. When USA cars come to oz they convert them. Same as when ours go over there. they build them for left hand drive.
MAD MAX drove a v8 ford

Only driven autos whilst in the states.
Peddles are obviously the same, but it's amazing how soon driving on the other side of the road feels "normal"
Round abouts and carparks were my only problems.

Yeah, I ordered a Mustang convertable to do the Florida Keys.

Was I pissed off when it turned up - 4cyl auto.
Before then I just assumed they were all V8s.
Only ever seen V8s over here.

OK no promises yet! This is still just in the discussion stages but, It seems possible that we MAY be able to gain access to a certain Texas Test Track. SRAD spoke with the owner about me doing some testing maybe twice a year. So he sounded positive and sent us to the Company Leasing the facility. SRAD spoke with "The Man" there who again seemed very positive but referred us to yet another company who is involved in some type of testing at the facility. So SRAD spoke with him today and although we had a very good discussion and he seemed genuinely interested the out come is 50/50. They have been approached on more than one occasion by motorsports groups wanting to hold Races and have declined simply due to liability issues. After discussion of what we are doing what our goals are, offers of disclaimers and releases of responsibility, there is a fair chance. The cool thing is he gave us the Track Managers name and contact info and gave us the Go Ahead to go out meet with the track Manager and inspect the Track to see if it's usable for our testing. Read Ride the track at low speed POSSIBLY. So stay tuned I should know more by mid next week and possibly have some video of the place.

when I was over there - driving - it was all ok whilst you were driving, but geez if I was in the passenger seat, I'd get all confused there.

Yeah I agree with Missy, its ok when you are driving but I hated being a passenger....felt like we were gonna crash all the time.

As for shifting with right hand instead of left, that was ok, most of the machinery at work, especially the trucks, you have to shift with your right hand. We still drive on the NORMAL side of the road though lol...
