Hi guys,
Well after going for a ride with my club on the new 'busa last weekend, its quite evident that the bike is just too damn quiet when riding in a group, especially with reasonably loud bikes, no one can hear where you are, so I spent most of my time out front or behind the pack (which is hard to do..) for safety reasons.
I can get a set of devil carbon slip-ons for around the $1k mark brand new, which is about 600 bucks off the shelf price. However I'm deciding whether or not to do a full system and get it over and done with, which might be cheaper in the long run.
Now I don't want to fork out a small fortune right now, as I have the first kid due in less than 2 months, which is why I was considering the slip-ons.
Any suggestions or comments about the slip-ons vs a full system would be appreciated. At the moment I'm not overly worried about a loss of weight or increase in power,(though I wouldn't knock it back) just a good note to let people know where I am.
Cheers

If you're not interested in weight savings and performance gains and only want a louder note, I'd go with slip-ons and save on the additional costs of a PCIII and custom map for a full system.

Just like mine I have advertised in the "buy swap sell section" shortend std mufflers .Much deeper sound ,5kg lighter , looks better and no ecu change runs same as std (I could feel no power increase, others say more bottom end).Yours for $250

Well there is a few things that you need to work out like already mentioned.
What is your budget ?? Slipons are a lot cheaper than the full system.
Do you want weight savings ??
Do you want more power ?? or are you happy with the way it is ??
The PC111 argument is one that you need to work out, some guys that have put in a PC111 have then taken the unit out and put the standard ECU back in and found that the bike runs just as good, but this subject is a real debate / discussion point.
I have a full system on and the busa (K8) & it runs very well with the standard ECU the only thing I haven't done yet is to put it on the Dyno to see what the Air to Fuel ration is doing. Once I've done that then this will make me decided which way I will go.
If your just after an exhaust note so you can be heard from a safety point of view but not really interested in the gains of a full system then I would probably go slipons.. The only reason I put the full system on was that I got an extremely good deal and there was no difference in price between the slipons vrs the full system hence the reason I went with the later.
All the best with your homework.

Check out my videos on youtube(see my sign below).
I've get handmade cans and Y.Then i'v get the bike on dyno and set the OEM ecu WITH Yoshi Box..Everything runs ok and the diagram Air-Fuel is perfect..
The bike, goes faster than other bikes with full system and PCIII,on the road..
And it's much cheaper too
