The Ride Day!!!!!
17 Bikes, 21 Riders and Pillions.

Cassandra and The Woman
[Image: IMG_0519.jpg]
What an absolute great day! Met some terrific people that I hope to meet again and do the same !!!. Thanks for the BBQ breakfast George and Cassandra and I haven't fallen ill yet George so the cooking was fine (so far). The Woman (Gaye) said that she actually enjoyed her egg and bacon sandwich!!!!! We left at 9.30am and headed to Trentham via Exford, Bacchus Marsh, Greendale and through the Wombat State forrest. When we arrived at Trentham, Paul riding a gixer found out he had a leaking front fork seal which was actually dripping onto the road. He soldiered on though. A quick drink and loo break and off to Castlemaine. Now up to this stage the pace was pretty much the speed limit and I thought to myself Ron would be laughing at us saying hurry up mother f*#ker!!!!! Even Mutha was keeping up!!!! Which reminds me, hows the fluid levels Tez, do you still have that leak? Anyway the pace quickened a little from Trentham to Daylesford and stepped up a notch from Daylesford to the Newstead turn off and then all restrictions were lifted and off everyone went!!!! We get to the Newstead turn off and another problem, Steve on a R1 stopped his bike and realised he was covered in oil. The rubber plug that sits in the side of the motor popped but didn't blow out and needless to say he pretty much lost all his oil. We decided that the mob was going on to Castlemaine about 15k's away and I was going to get some oil and bring it back. So Corbin stayed with Steve and off we went. When we are filling up at Castlemaine, I have the oil and about to show everyone where the pub is and Corbin rings and says he and Steve were already at the pub. They got some oil from somewhere and in they came. Lunch at the pub, pretty good, I had a mixed grill, we draw the raffle and the winners are as follows, The service was won by Damien, The Harris Grips by Arthur Dunga, Chain lube by Jeff, Battery Charger by Bruno, The website by Corbin and the undertail and the bike cover were also won but Corbin knows who has won them! Again thankyou to the people who donated prizes. Back to the ride!

DJ is a camera magnet
[Image: IMG_0540.jpg]
The guy with the handbag (Andrew) He rides the zx14!!!!!
Anyway, because of the fires we couldn't go the original way that was planned so we headed for Creswick. Now the roads were great which ment the pace stepped up again and when we reached Creswick all the mob had smiles on their faces, even DJ said it had been a while since he'd blown the cobwebs out and he reckoned the BUS hadn't gone that quick for awhile aswell!!!!!!!
CRESWICK
[Image: IMG_0543.jpg]
From Creswick Bussdriver99 (Stuart) took us the back way to Ballarat off we all went again and all I can say is what speed limits? Now during the course of this leg we somehow lost Tez, I think she went straight ahead istead of turning right, anyway Tez ended up at home safe and sound so all is good!!!! With the time getting on we had to say OOROO to DJ who had to work!!!!! So now Corbin was leading, we decided to head for Meredith and from the outset Corbin seemed to be in bit of a hurry. Isn't it always the way? You are in a hurry and you always catch the red light or the bells at a train crossing or a herd of a couple a hundred cows grazing on the road!
We arrive at Meredith and Corbin rings his beloved to wish her happy valentines day, he hasn't seen her since 7:30 this morning and it is now on the way to 6 side of 5ish, we are still an hour or so from home and from the look on his face I think he was hung up on! So now we head off through the YOU YANGS, Werribee and home. It was kind of awesome this part of the ride, we were in the ford testing grounds and I kept hearing this boom! I'm sure it was Corbin breaking the sound barrier on several occassions but rest assured the mob stayed with him, we weren't going to let him get away that easy!
At the end of the day it was a brilliant ride, well worth the wait and it was also something that both myself and The Woman needed, the club has raised another $365 toward the plaque for Ron and his family and everyone arrived home safe and sound, what else can you ask for!!!!!! Thanks.......... GASSICK!
