HEY! It's working no more locked up computer!
OK Ihave been snooping around the site here quite a bit and I have seen some questions technical stuff that we dealt with last year getting ready for Land Speed Racing ( pair valves power commander etc etc). Last year when I decided to go LSR I kind of wanted to do a photo Diary for other riders out there that wanted Mods to their bikes. So ever thing we did to the bike I did step by step installs with pics and explanations to show just how easy some of this stuff is.

Lets see if I can answer things:
The rider who wrecked at 199mph turned out to be fine. He had a few abrasions on his arms and some pretty bad bruising on one hand, both him and the bike slid and didn't hardly tumble at all!

I'm not really sure I'm ready for Bonneville or it ready for me! When I started the stuff last summer I had never been over 150MPH by myself(I was on the back of SRAD's GSXR750 at about 165MPH when it spit a Rod through the block though) So all told with Testing Practices and actual runs I probably have less then 50 Top Speed Runs total under my belt. All of them on good clean flat ASPHALT! So the thought of riding on crusty loose salt fighting for traction etc etc, that's a little more than I'm ready for yet.

BusGo thanks! I hope some of the stuff we do can either help or inspire some of the riders here. We still have a ton of info to share leading up to this years first Runs in March.

GCBusa It's always nice to bump into aquiantances! Last year I had about 35,000 views on about 10 boards so it's hard to keep up with everyone hope you enjoyed the read though!

a beautiful warm sunny day. Way too good to be sitting at the computer. I can feel a ride coming on.

OK so I'm like 7 hours ahead of you.
I'm getting ready to build a wheel/tire balancer and as soon as I get started I'll post up some pics. I didn't realize that stck factory wheels are niether round or balanced! Most factory wheels are cast then center drilled for axle bearings rotors and then the wheel rim is centered around the drilled center. So while the wheel is round on the tire mounting surface and it's true and straight to the axle the wheel rim and spokes may not be! When SRAD showed me how to strip the wheel lips and polish them on our 96 SRAD I was astounded how far out of round the inside(part that is polished) edge of the rim was! so I am going to strip my wheels down and balance them bare, then put my tires back on and balance them again hoping to get closer to round and closer to balanced. I'm building my own balance stand and I'll have pics pretty quick of it
