Ruffy and Gnarbunkle accident at Jindy

A very big thank you to everyone involved. Road trauma is not a pleasant thing and everyone responds differently. Main thing is that everyone chipped in with what they comfortably could deal with and we all got out out of there safely. Tanya, the police woman who arrived at the scene was nice, quite unlike other members of the force that I have come across. Unfortunately I missed out on a helicopter joy flight, but the ambos were great and took me to Cooma Hospital instead of their base at Tumut. Lisa turned up at Cooma Hospital in a hire car and we made it back to Canberra, checked up on John and then drove out to the Madmax abode where we were looked after royally by Mary. Even the family cat was istructed to and rubbed in the medicinal fur. Graham clocked up over a 1000k's on this patrol and Heidi footed the exorbitant tow fee. Everyone was fantastic IMO and if I havn't mentioned anyone its the Neurofen OK.The team pulled together and apart from John who is still perving at the nurses in those red shirts and tight slacks, has made it home. No Lisa you can't hit him hes only looking. Fortunately for me no breaks showed up on the x-rays but but my right shoulder muscles took a beating and hurt like hell. Neurofen+ is my new friend and i'm couch potatoing for the rest of the week.

Dropped in and saw Ruffy at Canberra Hospital Tuesday evening.

John was looking well but in agony. His stuble had grown to the point it was totally irritating with the neck brace on and he wanted a good shave.

He looked and sounded well in reality. Until they came and told us his dinner was there.

Didn't see any cute nurses in red shirts and tight slacks. Actually didn't see any cute nurses.

What do you do when an interstater is layed up in Canberra Hospital with no cute nurses around? You offer to duck in to Fyshwick and buy him some good porn. He was most appreciative of the offer............but not neccesary.

Get well soon guys.
Regards,

Busdriver (aka Les)

I would like to pass on my best wishes to both the guys for a speedy recovery and to their families all the best during this period.

I can honestly say that eveyone certainly deserves a big Clap to all involved that have offered support in all the different aspects of such an event, it's very encouraging to see such a group pull together to help in so many ways.
It certainly makes you proud to be associated with such a club and a wonderful group of people and I would like you all to give yourselves another big Clap it's little things like this that make our world a better place.

Folks,

I agree with Rev's sentiments. I thought that everyone who was able to assist the guys did so. I read the criticism of the lads who finished the loop and it was unjustified. There were more than enough people looking after the guys and they only left after checking that they were not needed.

The collection of the bikes, the offers to make them good and provide parts is fantastic and reinforces my high opinion of the club and the guys I met on the ride. I would also mention the courage of Ruffy and Gnarbunkle who were extremely "helpful" even though in pain and traumatised.

The policewoman (Tanya) was excellent as were the ambos. Tanya agreed that the accident was due to road conditions so no neg driving charges will be laid. I can't help but think that the conduct of the whole group; the assistance given to the guys, tania (many stayed directing traffic etc) and the ambos must have demonstrated that we werent a bunch hoons and may have influenced that decision ( the number of grey heads probably helped as well). She told me that she has often seen bikers act like idiots in the area and that in the vast majority of times Neg driving charges would be laid.

I would also like to think that the assistance is something that we can expect from most riders and many other bikes and cars stopped to offer assistance.

To this end a quick mention of my mate Bruce who deep down is worthy of a Busa even though he rides a Beemer. He stayed at the point directing the traffic approaching the accident, out of everyones site and the excitement for the whole time until the copter flew off.

Cheers

Good words Steven, and at the end of the day can't we always count on our Beemer brothers to do the sensible thing.

Cheers

We finally departed the top floor of the TCH thurs morning after a fair amount of fist waving at the doctors who kept telling us the MRI was what was required for a definative diagnosis but the machine wasn't available for another 3 days when we had been waiting since saturday already - sent mrs ruffy in with the tears and sure enough i was strapped in 2 hours later.

There are no nerves or tendons severed or crushed in the neck and shoulder which took the brunt of the armco but they are 'stretched' which will take a lot of physio to repair. I still have two pinhole fractures in the c6 and c7 vertebrae of the neck - still finding new bruises everyday but i'm starting to like purple and yellow togetherEek First physio appt this arvo of many.

Thanks to those who have offered parts without fanfare and those who continue to help behind the scenes as an accident affects people in many different ways.

Cheers Ruffys

I presume that she means that the NSW crew are blocked from re-entering the ACT for now.

It's like when we let the dogs off at 9pm.
