I was one of the early supporters for having the annual run at Jindabyne, being a little central for the Mexicans and the NSWelshmen and ladies while being pretty tough for the Banana Benders. I now have to change that to another location. Mind you, last weekend was incredibly wet right across New South Wales and Qld. We'd have gotten wet whereever we were. We just wouldn't have had the snow and ice to contend with as the "loop Riders" did.
The last Jindy was noticably short of Mexicans, and we did miss their rather special repartee and inability to handle their drinks. Will they come to the Oxley? we are considering having Mudgee as a base and riding the Oxley, Thunderbolts etc, the only complicating factor being the NSW Police.
Thanks again Raymond. Great effort across the years which were appreciated mate.
Cheers
Max hear hear.
Sometimes its a thankless task.
And just a few thankyous can make a big difference.

ok this is gonna be a bit wild but instead of organising a ride to go fast and temp fate(fuggin fuzz) maybe we could organise something relatively close to a track and make track event out of it. jsut a thought tho. i know it will be difficult but id give ya a hand ray!

BUSGO Wrote:The clash with the annual Snowy Ride is hurting this event and the only way to avoid that is to relocate and reschedule.
Hi Busgo,
I remember saying this a few years back, but it wasnt taken into consideration then. Going to the Snowys twice in a fortnight on some occasions doesnt really cut it.
You dont have to relocate though, just move it further away from the Snowy Ride. Feb/Mar would be great.
Isn't it funny but this was the topic of much discussion over dinner and in our room in the evening during the ride down and back from Qld. Consideration was given to where would be options, where would be good rides once you got there, what would be the riding conditions when you got there, how does that fare for people coming from all different states etc.
We didn't come to a conclusive answer but for me, I actually like doing the meet in the snowies cause it give me a chance to go riding somewhere completely different and we have such a great adventure getting there and back again, blasting across the country on some brilliant back roads. The River rampage and other rides that are organised are great runs along the gwyder, the waterfall and the oxley so a chance to ride around somewhere else is good.
I think Nov is a difficult time of year, for me at least. Because we have to go for more than a weekend, taking time off leading into Chrissy is tough. It also seems that the big roll up we had previously was in Feb but the last 2 Nov get togethers have been low in attendance?
Either way, a big thanx to all who are involved with organising any of these meets and I look forward to seeing everyone at any of the next lot of get togethers organised. (Where ever and when ever that might be)

I love to go to Jindy. Went there a month ago with another club and got some great weather, so I guess its the luck of the draw.
I thought February was good when we went down last time.

Once you get into Feb/Mar you then clash with the events at Phillip Island.
We could always just slip it a week into December taking it a bit further away from the Snowy run and try a different venue like Wagga Wagga or Albury. The mountains are still within range but there are other options for a run if the mountains are closed in.
Bathurst is another central location with good riding opportunities as well as the circuit to explore.

Unfortunately Dan the irony is some people are more scared of the race track than the road.Riding in a group thats at your pace will make you realise its ALOT safer if properly patrolled.Tracks definately sort the pub bullshit from reality which can ruffle a few egos.Personally if a 3 day meet like a dutton rally with options for a road loop for some and tourist spots for the 2 up hubby and wives would be fantastic if enough support for the event could be gained.I,m interested in taking my bike to the april fools run(airstrip) in casino, perhaps a get together could be organised around an existing event like this?I,m sure theres a few busa owners that would love to see what there bike will do in a legal environment.

Hey the Dutton rally type ride sounds awsome!! more of a tour/rally ride at your own pace......great idea! you could really mix in some awsome roads...
I'd rather be riding my Hayabusa thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my Hayabusa

I'm not sure if everyone is on the same road with this Dutton Rally and the Casino April Fools airstrip runs.
They are two different events.
The Nymboida run is also on the same weekend as the Casino trip and up in the same general area. It is a 3 day run as well and on the same weekend that Simmo and crew are going on their ride.

ok wat about an airstrip then. somewere that we can host a day of flat out speed runs and a type of no dollar grudge racing/ no times just first over the line. could include a nice road loop aswell. im happy to assist in organising something like this and hell i design airports must be able to find one that will let us on there strip for a day or two

Dan
thats what the april fools run is Dan,an airstrip run.As busgo said its on the same weekend the nymboida run is and in the same area. When i said the dutton rally,i meant a dutton rally style event.Adding the april fools run to the nymboida run or similar would go close to acheiving a similar result.
