Seat Difference
#1
Hi,
I have a 2008 Busa and want to buy a seat cover from Sheepy Hollow.
My problem is, I was told that the 2007 Busa seat is different then my 2008 Busa seat. The guy at Sheepy Hollow said that he thought they were all the same. I don't want to pay for it to find that it don't fit and go through all the bullshit of sending it back and so on.
Can any guy's help here.
Thanks
John

Piperjon, In August this year I purchased two sleepy hollow seat covers for my and Simmo's K8's. I ordered them thru MAW at Castle Hill. $125.00 each front only.

They were a tight fit but with a bit of fiddling around we got them on no problems.

I ordered them as K8 but they may have been for a K7 either way they fit and were fantastic on the ride around australia.

HI.
Dont know about difference in Busa seats but seems members say they are different.
Have had previous dealings with Peter B. who runs sheepy hollow and have always dealt with him direct/over the phone. He is a good guy/biker, and has trusted me to send monies after goods were sent.
My last dealing with him was for an 05 R1 for which he did not have a pattern. Got me to send him my seat / made cover and returned them. Sent me a bill for front and back when I only got front but fixed up when I rang him. He will quote you a price which I think would be cheaper than the one you have for single seat. Top product but the elastic he uses seems to loose its stretch quality quickly.
There is another maker in NSW, I think its goodwool or something, who might be worth an enquiry.
My 20 cents worth.

Just saw peter from sheepy hollow last week before heading
off to jindy hes not a happy man.
The reason is the skins he now has to deal with arent as good as they now come from china
the tanneries in Oz have shut down & he cant get the skin required to make the same great product.
His staff are gone & after 16yrs it all seems like for nothing.
Bruce you & simmo must have got the last of the good batch then.
I've had several of his products over the years & found them great
I was going to get him to do the mould for my 09 when i got back from the trip but now im not so sure,
he loaned me a throw over skin & it was the cheaper version I cant say it worked as well & looked
more like a dead possum after doing the K's on it all flat etc.

There is a company in the Hunter Valley called Mortels who pride themselves in being the inventors of the authentic UGG boots.
They also make made to order REAL sheepskin products of all descriptions.
If anyone is really keen, I'm sure that they will make a good set of seat covers.
Here is the link to their site.

Hi again,

I have spoken to Peter from Sheepy Hollow regarding his sheep skins and now he buys his skins from a guy in QLD who sends his skins over sea's to get them done. Peter said the sheep skin is still the same but is tended a little different then the Australian tanneries. But his work is still the same as it has always been just slow because of no workers and find it hard to get workers. I'm sending up my seats so he can make up sets for K8's and K9's covers.
Take care
John

Received yesterday a pair of Sheepy seat covers, (only to appease the Mrs on our journey from Batemans Bay to Sydney to Adelaide to Kangaroo Is to Melb we are about to undertake). Due to my lack of planning he couldn't make the "premium" ones in time so I went the "Budget" units.

I'm normally one to buy the best but I was considering which ones to buy as the Budgets are half the price & he didn't really seem to have a reason for the price diff. Upon arrival the workmanship looks fantastic. I haven't fitted or trialled them yet but ask me mid Jan & I'll let you know how they've panned-out.

I must admit I've also added some rear 'peg lowerers which the Lovely loves. I know it all sounds a tad soft but if she's happy to cut a quick 4000km with me then I'll do what I can to keep her happy.

I must admit I'm still a tad, (quietly) concerned about the fact that I'm running the '99 alloy sub-frame. Especially considering I've attached a 50L Ventura bag & rack & a Mandolin & I weigh 87kg. Watch this space....

G;day Cam, hope you have a great trip.
Keep an eye on that subframe mate as mine cracked a couple years ago. I was running the std exhaust & never carried luggage & only the odd pillion but I was over 120 kg at the time.
Let me know if you want my Mobile number as I have a trailer/hoist & tools & can pick you up within a few hundred kays of Adelaide if needed.
(just a little piece of mind when you are cruising through South Australia) Action-smiley-083
Cheers
