Ventureshield Protective Films
#1
I was gonna hijack Busaboys protective film thread but thought better of itSFun_kickingroin

I should have some ventureshield headilght protectors coming in the next week for the Gen1's. My supplier was also sending me a image of the template for the full Gen1 kits so I can post it on the forum for you guys to check out but I havent seen it yet. I am not sure if he has a template for the Gen2's but I will find out.

I should be able to supply the protector for less than $30. Pricing for the full kits will be available shortly.

Thanks to those who voted in the poll, I will try my best to be able to offer a smokin deal on Ventureshield, Cordona and other new products in the future for all forum members.

WHEN GEN 2 COMES IN. I WILL GRAB ONE MATT. SEEN THIS STUFF AND ITS TOUGH AS!

IT'S LIKE A 2ND SKIN. YOU WOULD GET EYESTRAIN TRYING TO DETECT IT.

MIGHT BE WORTH LOOKING AT A SHIELD FOR THE FRONT SECTION. IE TRUCKS,CARS AND OTHER BUSA'S ON HIGH SPEED RUNS. PROTECT THE PAINT AS WELL.

I think the GEN2 is more comprehensive because there is potentially more areas of exposure to damage.
The Stock template is as you see it above. It is possible to make a more comprehensive template in one of two ways.

1. Make a paper template and send it to my supplier to get digitized 2. Take a bike in to his shop in Melbourne and get it digitized and customize a template.

I have been really flat out and am trying to get the opportunity to call him again and see if I can get a basic lineal meter price not including template design then you can have an idea of how much you want to cover and how much it will cost.

The problem is, everyone would have their own idea of what is enough coverage and what is not enough. At some stage we have to consider what is acceptable as a standard template.

I will get some of the standard templates cut and get them on a bike and post some photos. If you want to talk about making the template better or more comprehensive I will be open to suggestions.

I fitted a Ventureshield tank protector to my bike the other day and I gotta say I am impressed at how easy it is to work with and how difficult it is to see on the bike. Judge for yourself.

CoolafroLol3UndecidedCan I ask, Do you have any photos of Gen I busa's a couple of years old with the venturafilm and a comparo regarding a long term test on the product.
Is there a grit build up over time that develops around the film?
How long will the product last before replacement is required?
Can the product be removed safely after a few years without damage to the paint job to re-apply a new film?
Sorry to be a saw thumb but just asking the questions? Confused

All good questions. I dont have any long term photos on a Busa.
I can tell you that the film has a 6 year waranty against yellowing, cracking or bubbling provided it is fitted to manufacturers recomendations.
You would wash the bike as normal and any build up around the film edges should be cleaned up with a cotton bud and some rubbing alcohol.
No abbrasive polishes should be used on it.

The adhesive is designed to stay with the film if it is ever removed from the bike so none will be left on the paint and the paint will not be damaged.

Installation instructions attached if you are interested.

Hi,

I put Ventureshield on my bike and wrote a How To do thread "Paint Protection - Covering Film Install". Ive included shots of my bike with the protective film with the outline being highlighted with car polish. After almost nine months of daily use and some long rides (PI, Jindy Weekend, and others) the film has remained clear.

I questioned if it was worth it? Given my long trips and the damage others have had from stones etc and that i have not had I would probably say that it is worth it but still have reservations on the small size of the leading endge fender plastic.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input Steventh, If you can suggest a better shape/coverage on a photo for the leading edges or any other part for that matter, I can customise the template to better suit the exposed areas. I have no problem customizing the existing template but just remember, the more film that is used, the more it will cost. It will also add to the delivery time whilst it is being mapped top the template. No one knows better than the people putting the k's on the bike as to what suits best.

Also note that you do not need to buy a complete kit if you do not think it is suitable you can pick which pieces you want and we can build a kit based on that. Basically it is a drag and drop function with each piece to build out your own kit before cutting out on the plotter.

All prices will be based on lineal meterage required for the job.
