Almost new 2006, 1000 Km, Red & Black
Amazing, only ridden a few cruisers for the last couple of years.
Really starting to appreciate the style, it's beautiful.
Rode it 100 Km today but the weekend isn't far off !
Mind you it's only 11:30 PM, dont have to work till 10:00 AM, could be tempted for another short ride tonight ;-)

Thx Rev, no I bought a demo machine.
Was gonna buy an M109R but it didn't work out.
I been keeping my eye on the Hayabusa and trying out a few sports bikes but they were always too uncomfortable.
But after taking the Hayabusa for a test ride I realised I needed one.
It's not exactly arm chair comfort like a cruiser and after another quick 50 Km my wrists are killing me, and my inner thighs are a bit stained but I expect after a couple of 1000 Km and a few adjustments to my posture I'll get used to it.
Still trying to sit up too high, slowly getting down !

Steve,
Just loosen up mate and go with the "FAST" flow.
Beware of the super accelleration. The go faster than they stop.
The 06 Red/Black is one of the nicer colours too.

Regards BUSGO

yeah i'm with busgo love that colour scheme...stay safe!
I'd rather be riding my Hayabusa thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my Hayabusa
Hi Steve,
Welcome, and enjoy! Remember its the best thing in the world to go out riding on one of these machines....but even better to make it back - ride safe!
ps...NICE WORK!

Thx Guys, it's been mine for 24 hrs now and done half a dozen short rides and just getting the hang.
I been trying to persuade myself I didn't want a sports bike for a year and a half but couldn't deny it any longer, after a trip up Mt Buffalo and over Mt Hotham last week on the XVS13000A it all became clear.
Can't wait to see the top of Mt Kosiuszko soon.
Love the damn bike.
Too old to be too stupid, I think ?
congratulations mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love this machine now, done nearly 1,500 kms around Sydney over the last week and a half taking the looooong way to work and back, lunch time and late at night rides. It's a very refined piece of electro-mechanical art. I'm not sure that it's well known but compared to a cruiser you can lean it right over and go round corners really fast which is actually quite pleasant ;-)

Glad to see you're still enjoying it...
It DOES corner quite well, doesn't it. I love taking mine to Eastern Creek where there's no opposing traffic and wide wide corners...
Are you feeling any more comfortable on it yet? Have you looked into bar risers to take some weight off your wrists?

Hey now thats a good idea, how and when can you ride at Eastern Creek, does it cost ?
Wide corners and no traffic, sounds like heaven.
I actually haven't ridden it very fast yet because I did find it such a different experience from the cruiser, but Im becoming more confident and precise the more I ride it. I dont want to endanger my own life let alone anybody elses.
It feels much more comfortable now, its a bit like riding a horse rather than an arm chair and my wrists arent too bad althought they do get a tired quickly ridng round town, I expect it would be easier on the highway. I would like to see if bar risers made much difference. The other thing which might help is to lower the angle of the levers, which seems to be possible but at this stage with a complete lack of mechanical ability I would rather not pull out the rusty old wrench.
Damn this thing goes thru the petrol, the XVS1300 was better for that, lucky I didn't buy the M109R !
