Where are the Busas in QLD.
#1
Hey fellow QLD riders I was just wanting to know where do all you guys hide. I was over there for a couple of weeks with the tribe and in all my travels from the Gold Coast up to the Sunshine Coast I only saw 3 busas and they were all K8 blue and black ones surely you hadn't put them away because of the overload of cops in the region for the Indi Cars..

Saw one on the Pacific HWY heading towards Brisbane, one on the Bruce HWY just turing off heading towards Beerwah and one on the Logan HWY heading towards Towoomba.

Anyway bloody nice part of the country and weather was brillant never had one bit of rain well we seemed to miss it anyway so I spose I was lucky..

I've come to conclude no one rides 'busas in Brisbane Lol3 They only drop them off at Springwood Suzuki at 8am on a Saturday morning... Between 8:02am and 8:24 am on last Saturday morning, I counted 5 not including mine.

Rev, they're around, they're just not common. None of them nod at me either, YOU NON-NODDING BASTARDS! Lol3

This is a sore point that I think has been discussed before.
Is it that riding is a relatively new trend here North of the eastern borders and traditions like giving fellow riders a wave or nod have not been instilled into the local riding demographic??
Of course there are the exceptions to prove the rule, but as a trend, riders south tend to acknowledge each other more than their northern counterparts. I am an active believer in spreading the 'love' among other riders and am happy for any others to join me in the quest.

Some of us have been without a ride for a few weeksFrown, the rest are riding well away from the main highways you talk of. Lots of great roads up here to exploreDrool, well away from the bordom of main highways.

Unfortunately, I know a lot of people don't bother posting Qld rides on this board as there is generally very little response.

Lately I've been doing a lot of overnight trips.... most weekends.

Here is a couple of random threads for example:

Huge Overnigther - Paradise Dam, Hervey Bay, Maleny, Mapleton, Glorious, Mee etc

Killarney Overnighter

Also there is always the steak nights ... which is a good place to hear about rides starting from Brisbane.

well there's the odd couple in town, I know of few occasions when i see two together in town and that's when me and the man are riding together.

I grew up country so I always do the country wave on rural roads, and much disgusted when not reciprocated. Much the same in town. There definitely isn't a lot of female riders, so when they pull up beside me on the whitey its quite a funny double take.

Long weekends off the roster are rare, but me and bf love nothing better than a good ride (big distances) For now we have to just appreciate a day trip to rocky (300+ km's each way) while I do some Karate gradings in between then blat home. But that trip is much more appreciated than none at all.

I enjoy being able to ride to work every shift anytime, and its just that a bloody nice ride (albeit shortish).

I suspect it has to do with the increase in riders on the road, partially due to the fact SE Qld is perpetually in a drought (so it's an easy activity to get into) and that Q-Ride brought so many new big bike riders onto the streets. Many new riders don't get the culture of riding.

Saw a female stop at Springwood Suzuki on Saturday, blue and silver Gen 1 with full white leathers. Made me do a double take. You're right, not many female 'busa riders around at all. Even fewer are available Pi_tongue

well i agree, too many commuters on bikes who just ride cause it's easy. I have always nodded to each and every rider, a 2 finger salute when out touring and a big full hand wave to any other busa i see... It's not hard, but i do understand sometimes they might be checking mirrors or speedo and just miss it....
I love seeing busa's on the main roads up here, because they are quite rare to see out and about on the main roads- they're all out the back on the nice long sweepers hahahahah

Happy riding all

Springwood Suzuki is a well set up store had a bit of a look around and couldn't believe that they still had 3 white K8's on the floor.

Well even when i did get of the beat and track a cruised through some of the hills back to the gold coast I saw plenty of Gixxer 1000's but not much else those bloody things were everywhere over there.

Oh well maybe when I venture over there next year all going well I might see some more Busas.

I guess QLD is a big place and its easy to miss all of us out there, I ride every Sunday (covered 60,000 Sunday kms in the last 5 years) and yes I'v nodded my head off (even to harley riders).Last place you'll see my bike is springwood Suzuki- took me 18 months to straighten out the problems their service department caused me.
see ya out there.

Well rides used to be posted up but due to a lack of interest only the occasional one is posted up now. With Jindy, Xmas etc, I don't expect to see another overnighter until about Feb, March when Cannonball Ride is on about then. Tony and I usually ride with the Brisbane Bikers as they are always going somewhere or if not we just go for a short toodle over Mt Mee or Mt G. Tone always nods and I even nod from the back (not sure if I should but what they hang, a back nod is better then no nod. We've seen a white busa heading towards the city on Gympie Road a couple of mornings is that you Miss Moo?
