when you give fluids (by IV) to injured people.
They will drop in tempreture and shiver...
So you have to keep them warm, space blankets, blankets....... as its not blood you've pumped into them all nice and warm.
ah always wondered why the blanket...thought it was like security ha ha

Heart rate.
A normal heart rate is around 60bpm.... disregarding those superfit humans whose resting heart rate is sometimes way less.
If a heart beat drops so that it is continually beating really slow, like under 60 per minute...
60 is regarded as the amount required to keep the brain well oxygenated with blood, without a good supply of oxygen, the brain starts going on the fritz, making you sound confused, making bad decisions, acting drunkish, or even go unconscious.
Next I will mention the pulse....

Pulse...
can be felt in the wrist (radial), or along the neck (carotid), upper thigh (femoral), and some other places...
If you can feel someones pulse in their wrist, you can pretty much safely safe their blood pressure systolic (the upper reading i.e. 120/80 is regarded as pretty normal) is above 90.....
as if a persons blood pressure drops (they become hypotensive) under 100 systolic... hence you will not feel a pulse radially....
I'd go for the carotid next, if you can feel a pulse at someone's neck, then you can rest assured that their blood pressure is at least around 40 systolic - not very good anyways..... If you feel nothing then oh god you'd better do something.
anyway If I can't feel a persons radial pulse and they're laying on the ground and probably looking pretty pale - or even out to it. There's one thing you can do - its raise their legs!
this is so with what little blood that is trying to be pumped around the body, by elevating the legs you push as much blood as the body has to their brain & hence previous post, the brain needs two things to operate = OXYGEN and GLUCOSE

Beer, as all alcoholic drinks, is made by fermentation caused by bacteria feeding on the yeast cells, then defecating. This bacterial excrement is called alcohol.

The worlds strongest beer is 'Samuel Adams' Triple Bock, which has reached 17% alcohol by volume. To obtain this level, however, they had to use a champagne yeast.

Modern breathalyzers work on a clever electrochemical principle. The subject's breath is passed over a platinum electrode, which causes the alcohol to bind with oxygen, forming acetic acid. In the process it loses two electrons, a process that sets up a current in a wire connected to the electrode. The higher the concentration of alcohol in the breath, the greater the electrical current, which can be read by a simple meter to indicate intoxication levels.

It is always helpful to have a law that clearly defines when a person is legally intoxicated. In Kentucky, anyone who has been drinking is considered sober until he or she cannot hold onto the ground.

That would of been Narcan they gave him.
Narcan is a competitor for the same receptors that opiates link into and give people their highs... only narcan is more competitive and kicks off the opiate and with out the depressive nature on the bodys respiratory system, the body wakes up....
also it has a half life, so it wears off quick which if the junkie still has a huge hit on board, narcan will wear off and the junkie will go unconscious again, the breathing will depress, they become hypoxic (also why they are oxygenated before bringing out of drug induced state as hypoxic patients are aggressive as there is a lack of oxygen in the brain)
So the hospitals have to keep injecting narcan to maintain the drugs effectiveness.
Which is why now, you think, do I want to wake up an aggressive junkie or bag the unconscious junkie and breath for them until hospital and let them deal with an aggressive junkie????

The term 'toddlers' originated in England. There were impurities in the drinking water that disallowed the water to be used for drinking. A common alternative drink was beer (it was cheep, plentiful and the water used to make it was treated during the initial boiling during brewing). Toddlers, just weaning off of mothers milk were unaccustomed to the effects of beer. This coupled with the fact that they were just learning how to walk really made them toddle.
