Hi Guys,
out of interest, has anyone experienced any problems with 5th to 6th gear changes and i've had varied advice from mechanics but do you use your clutch to upchange gears??? mine seems to change better without the clutch so long as the revs are right etc just a little pressure on the lever drop the revs and in she slips!!! just thought i'd see what you guys do, so far most are saying sometimes yes and sometimes no!! sounds like me...

you need another choice in your poll
sometimes yes, somtimes no
been riding bikes for 30 + years. never known of this to cause damage. on track, off track, dirt or tar. the type of gear box used in bikes will suffer no problems if done right. up or down no difference.

i always clutch it. rather pay for a clutch than engine cases if something goes wrong

Mostly dont use on any gear. Rarely use from 1st to second.
I clutch it always, probably more out of habit than anything else.
No - or that should be rarely
i rarely used the clutch on my old crf 450 only time i used it was to get power down in tight corners.

I'm pretty much the same, It really depends on the situation and the timing more than anything so it's and yes and no for me as well.

If my wife starts complaining about jerky gearshifts I stop using the clutch- then she cant even feel them.
