Hi all,

As you can see from the photos my first Busa lived a very short life. I picked her up from Wollongong 8 weeks ago and managed a truly enjoyable 105km on her before a P-Plater decided to pull out on me without looking or indicating and wiped me out 300m from my house!!

For my trouble I spent a week in hospital with a dislocated ankle (in 3 places) and a titanium screw in the talus bone of my right foot. In 10 years of riding that's my first accident and I'm just glad I didn't have either of my kids on the back....

It's not all bad news tho...8 weeks later i'm about to get the plaster off and I have had plenty of time to check out the forum and have a look at all the other great bikes out there...as well as catch up on every DVD ever made!!

Thankfully I was insured before I left the shop and I should have a shiny new bike in my garage next week. Thanks to all the guys on the forum I also have a list as long as my arm of modifications I want to make when she arrives!!Egyptian

Cheers, Julian

Yes

I must be close to the first one on here who is already on his second K8?

I think it's ironic that I was on the fastest bike around and got taken out at 50km/hr! How embarrassing....

My advice....watch out for P-Platers. Especially when parked! Very dangerous!!

Thanks for the welcomeAction-smiley-083

Mate,

Its good to see you back, sorry to hear about your mishap. Watch for P Platers and the Ducati Riders !!! specially on the small Monsters....f*&^ing assholes.

On my way back from work I saw a duke rider riding between the moving traffic with NO indicators for any of his moves and then he almost hit another rider on a KTM. He didnt bother to slow down say sorry or even look in the direction. just went on with his riding....

Glad to hear your on the mend. But mate that totally sucks!!

Everyday I throw ladylike spastics at drivers who just don't -grrrr- do anything right. Lights n sirens or not they just pull the most stupidest things!

Certainly not a great way to start your busa experience Julian.
No, your not the first to write a k8 off but you may well be the quickest.
Lets hope you get back on one with no long lasting injuries to worry about.

Not the greatest way to start as Busgo said. However always look on the bright side there was one recently on a white K8 who didnt get up from his wreck, so alls good that your here to talk about it. Soon you'll no doubt be on another one. Welcome to the club.

Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome.

I can't wait for my new bike to arrive and my plaster to come off in 6 days!!

Planning to ride down to the MotoGP in October. Is anyone else from Sydney travelling down for it?? It's my first time to Phillip IslandClap

We should start a Phillip Island thread so we can all meet up. I'm going to be there, but I'm riding down from Canberra. If you can't rustle up a posse, you are welcome to come to Canberra and ride down with me.

Welcome - glad to hear you only spent a week in hospital - I spent 4 weeks in hospital and 6 months / 4 operations before walking again after a taxi 'didn't see' me. Shiny new new toy - some consolation at least.

Regards

P.S I hope the nurses treated you well and kept the pain relief fully stocked!
