#1
FrownJust received news my turbo 2004 rcc stage 1 is running on 3 cylinders after dropping off to an unnamed tuner here in SA. Not fuckin happy as it was fine before they got their hands on it -any SA Turbos out there with similar or fixes??

Not so much as a turbo burnt out more likely a set of pistons!

Welcome to the world of turbos and people who shouldn't be tuning them.Confused

And welcome to the club.

Shredder has a couple of sets of pistons listed for sale, sometimes you get lucky and only do a headgasket , but if its breathing at all from the crankcase breather then its pistons...worst case senerio is cyl damage too

Sorry to hear that m8, I ring around a few places here in adelaide bout 6 month ago and they said they neva tuned a turbo bike before but bring it in and they will have a go....... YEAH RIGHT GO f*** OFF i thort to myself. Theres sum serious money in them motors and theres no way i was going to let sum person with no experience in turbos near mine, Its not a cheap option but all i can say is the guys at S and R PRO made my kit up and far as im concerned there the ones to tune that sucker when its ready.

who does cylinder repairs in oz and what price.
reputable ones as well.

would be useful for all busa owners as there not like car engines of yesteryear and usually it's a select few that fix them unless you send your stuff to the states.

nothing economic in Aus, best option is s/h cyls, lucky they wear so little in normal use.

I asked ElectroSil a few years ago for a quote on a Busa block--they wanted $1800... 2 weeks ago I enquired agin about another Busa block and now the price is $1300+GST

As Maj says buy s/h either in OZ or--in the USA you'll get a block for $300USD plus the shipping which if you can work out with the seller , he can have it shipped air mail for approx $125 USD .

If you send your block to the USA to be replated ---look at Millennium's website for costs...they wont do you any favours with return shipping

Consider the low comp pistons or spacer plate with stock pistons..the ARTS are excellent pistons.

sorry to hear about youre bike that sucks i have a autronics SM4 standalone ecu when i first started getting it set up my tuner was doing the ignition timing the so called expert really had no idea and it had a few to many kick backs on the starter clutch and smashed the engine cases this was before the thing had even run lucky enough to find a complete motor with suspected spun bearings on ebay really cheap so i could use the cases as much as it sucks all worth it once they are up and running and you find someone who knows what they are doing

I could not find a motorbike tuner in adelaide who wanted to touch the bike as it had the autronic sm4 so ended up finding a tuner in the car scene who had a car dyno and was a autronics wiz who really buzzed off on the whole concept in the end he only wanted to play with it as it had the autronic ecu on it
