I don't think anyone doubts that the stock Gen2 is better than a stock Gen1.... but I just wish this article was more objective and technical in it's approach... seems to be a lot of hype.

Fellars I'm like a lot of people my 1st Busa is the K8 and yes I think it's all the bike that the journos have made it out to be. I have also ridden several models previous to this and all I can say to the Gen 1 owners is this.

The Legend of such an Iconic bike had to start some where and all you guys and gals still have a bloody good bike that is more than capable in every way possible.

Suzuki have done an excellent job with the K8 and like a lot of write ups have mentioned the job was ahead of them due to the status of GEN 1 so all I can say is hold your heads high you own the the 1st Gen BUSA that started it all and like anything evolution must keep moving.

Better?

Faster for sure,
A little more comfortable because the fat arsed seat, sure
Better brakes for sure, couldn't have gotten any worse!
Better tail - yeah sure!
More horsepower arrived at quicker than Gen 1, sure.
Smoother, sure
Goes nuts at the top end - sure.

Okay so the fucken thing is "better", bastards!Storm

I still wouldn't knock something back just because it has an ugly ass.

Well I wasnt terribly impressed by that article. Sure I acknowledge the K8 to be an overall 10% or so better bike, but the article really make out previous models to be ermm crap by comparison. I thought to myself this writer doesnt really know or owned a pre K8 busa. As TimF said above was more hype and like a marketing agent for the new model.

I think he got it pretty right Volvi.
The new busa is much better than a 10% upgrade.
When I had my GEN 1 bike, I made a list of things that I would like to see on the Gen II if it ever happened.
I could dig it out of the archives I suppose, if I looked hard enough, but it went something like this.
Better lights, done,
Better horn, done (BUT NOT MUCH BETTER),
Gear position display, done,
Shift light, done,
Better clutch, done,
A bit more power, done,
A bit more torque, done,
Smoother gearbox, done,
Led tail light, done,
More streamlined blinkers, done,
Same or simillar shape, done,
Better brakes, done. (And they ARE better).

So my list was pretty much complete and to add to the list, Suzuki came up with a more streamlined look,
better tyres,
better steering,
better steering damper,
a higher screen,
a smoother engine,
better suspension,
no fuel problems,
an ECU that doesn't need a PC to adapt,
and a really good price. (If you shop around).

So my smile is very wide and I'm more than happy.
