Rear Sprocket!!!!
#1
I have ordered a new chain and sprocket set, the supplier said he can't get me the 40 but he can get me a 39 tooth rear. Will I notice any kind of difference? The way I think I see it is that the front wheel will stay on the ground, is this correct?

Mine runs high by 6% at 100km/hr and 10% high at 270km/hr after that run on the airstrip last week Maj , using your GPS unit which saw you do 301km/hr at Casino

Had the new chain and sprockets fitted and you guys were spot-on, no noticable difference. "Big Love" still mono's when I want to and does everything the same. The only difference is, at 100 kmh I would be doing 3600rpm, I'm now doing 3400rpm. I haven't been through a speed check yet to see if the speedo reads true, not that they're the most acurate guide to speed reading but I should get some idea!

I went down one tooth on the rear of mine and had Les (Busdriver) check it with his GPS - pretty well spot on, I think it was actually doing 91 when indictating 90, 101 when indication 100 etc. If you ride passed one of those "Check your speedo for the next 5 kays thing" you'll see how close it is. Over the 5000meters I gained around 100 meters only.

Cheers

All depends on what sort of chain really, anywhere between $350 to $450

If you've selected the "race" version of the chain Gassick, you won't get good mileage out of it.
They are lighter and stretch quicker than the road version.
You can make it last longer if you keep it really well lubricated all the time though.

Just replaced a DID, good chain! Got about 25k out of it, a good 18 of those were giving it some. Was told about the RK530 so I thought I might give it a go. Busgo you're right on the money, I was told to keep the lube on it so to get a good few K's out of it!!!!
