Overnight to Walhalla 4/5th November
#1
I am organising an overnight ride to Walhalla and thought I would open the offer to anyone interested from here.

This ride would be up to Walhalla which is on the foothills of Baw Baw. The town itself is really quaint, retaining it's original character from the Goldrush days.

Proposal is to ride up to our accomodation. The you can decide whether or not you want to go for a ride up Baw Baw or go into the town and have a look around.

I have made enquiries with Rawson Village and we can have a lodge all to ourselves. The lodge is a round type of building which has a internal campfire area. The price I will detail, will include, a two course dinner, accomodation, and breakfast. So in a nutshell, after our day of riding, we dont have to do anything, but relax at the restaurant, then adjourn to our own campfire area outside our bedrooms. We can also have BYO alcohol in the campfire area. The restaurant is licensed.

When: Leaving Saturday 4th of November - Returning Sunday 5th November
Cost: $55 per person for all accomodation, linen and towels provided, two course dinner and breakfast (3 room share)
$60 per person for twin room share

I will have to have an answer pretty much straight away to secure this lodge. If there are not enough numbers, we would have to review the accomodation from the lodge to the motel. I have also put a link to the resort so you can see how nice the place is.

Dear Pinkie,

1. Walhalla is about 3 hours ride, so do we start about 1 PM to be in time for drinks ?

2. Where's Bulla and how many km's from Walhala? It's not on my map.

3. Can we do fancy dress ? I have a stunning little red number in a 16DD.

4. Can Holger find a new excuse ? ( to expand the data base)

5. Will my arse look big behind the Ventura Rack ?

Or perhaps just a few more relevant details ?

Ok, so I was having a blonde moment

In answer to sumkhun's grilling:

1. It is a 2 hour 30 minutes drive from Melbourne, leaving around 10 am

2. Mt Baw Baw should be the nearby mountain

3. Yes. All makes and models are welcome

4. Please explain

5. Yes.

6. Further details will be explained once the ride has been confirmed. It is quite simple. Leave Melbourne at around 10am from a meet up point that will be fairly central to all. Ride to Rawsons Village. Drop off the gear. Riders then can choose from riding the mountain or going into town to explore. Return to Rawson's village to organise a run to pruchase refreshments for the night. Dinner at the resort, adjourn to the campfire for drinking and story telling (might even throw a couple of ghost stories in) Feel free to stumble into your OWN bed at your leisure or as your sobriety dictates. Wake up in the morning for breaky. Then you can choose to return to Melbourne first thing or go back as a group sometime in the afternoon after a visit the Walhalla historic train or something along those lines. It is a relaxed type of ride, designed for a bit of riding, a lot of drinking and heaps of chin wagging. When I get confirmed numbers, I can sort out a more organised itinery. But I am open to any suggestions that anyone may wish to partake in

Is that better?

Been a while since we were down that way .

Did you keep the road map you sticky taped to your petrol tank. (Now where are those photos???)

Must have been a while since I was last there. (Note the lack of bling?)

It's a great trip. See how it pans out closer to the date.

I dont like the sound of all this.
It is way TOO organised,
It smells of Hangmore or something...very dangerous...
1. Destination
2. Distance
3. Events once you are there
and even...
4. Sleeping quarters.

Look out it's a trap of some sort...
maybe a police raid for unroadworthy bikes....
Na I don't like it...

Oh, also I'm not allowed to go...
Cheers,
Pete

Sorry Pete, you have caught me out there is an ulterior motive.

The ride is just a rouse to get you to the campfire night to induct you into a dark witch's sect. The night will have lots of mind altering substances, naked rituals and wild scenes. You will never return the same Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul.
