Fuel Preferences

Interesting reading on Shell (I've never had a problem with running it), especially the environmental angle - I don't think any oil company could hold their heads high on the side - but I'll definitely have a go at others also.

Here in Forster we have all brands except Mobil (unless you count their "discount" brand United).

Also interesting about standard unleaded.

Thanx for the input people.

BikerI find rather than the brand name, most crappy fuel comes from older, less frequently used servos. There's more chance of rust, scale, soil, moisture and a fair amount of water leaching into thier old underground steel tank's. I've seen the tank's dissintegrate when they are removed from the ground, and a truck load of sludge and rust particles sitting in the bottem.Try to pick the newer, busy servos that have regular delivery's. Unfortunatly, it's not alway's possible to pick and chose fuel brand's unless you ride in more built up area's. If you travel long distances on county roads and fuel up in outback town's, you just have to take what's available and hope for the best.

I run mobil premium mostly on the little girl I notice the different fuels alot more than on any other vehicle i've driven/ridden the mobil has more punch than the B.P 98 but I get more km's out of the B.P (i'm guessing 20 on average with a steady pace) I wont run the shell for the same reasons as Volvi.
