Look what I got today.
[attachment=2878]
I had a choice of the Micron GP sports in Matt Black or
The Yoshimura R77 Stainless with Carbon Tips.
Both sets weighed in the same but the Yoshis were $250.00 cheaper.

Total weight saving is about 8kg from the OEM mufflers.
A big thanks to Slowdownjack for popping over to assist in the fitting.
(He fitted, I fussed around and assisted)

Nice work mate - looks good.
But I thought you seemed quite keen on the Microns? Was $250 difference the only reason why you changed your mind?

I changed my mind on the spot.
Both sets of cans turned up at the same time and the Yoshis weighed the same and were cheaper. After seeing Slipstream08's Yoshis a couple of weeks ago, I loved the sound and the look of the way they fitted the new BUSA shape.
I have always liked the stainless look and the carbon fibre end caps set the decision.
I am sure that the Microns are great too and they would be easier to fit because they are a straight swapover from the OEM cans.
There is a little bit of fiddling around with the Yoshis but they look and sound great even with the baffles still in them.

I just found a sound clip of the same pipes in Carbon Fibre.
Looks like an Aussie rider named Jay.
Is it someone from our club?

For those who may be interested, here is the Yoshi Dyno comparison chart for a GEN II going from stock pipes to the R77 SLIP ONS.

Note the great improvement right in the middle of the rev range rather than at the top end.
