Brisbane Valley Stay Over -5-7 September - Esk
#1
Well as Mechanix, Tone and I were leaving we were dropped the hint that it maybe time that we organised a weekender. So come on you die hard (or is that blow hard) Queenslanders get thinking. I don't mind doing donkey work (thats what I do any way) like finding out accommodation costs etc. If we are gonna do this Im thinking August/September so our Southern brothers and sisters don't melt. Ok Tony and I have come with the following option just off the top of our heads. If your gonna shoot it down, please have an alternative suggestion.

Ride
Northern Loop - Dayboro, Mt Mee, Stanley River Road, Malaney, Kenilworth for lunch maybe??, Kilcoy, Mount Glorious, Home.
or
Ride to Hampton via Dayboro Mt Mee etc etc
or
Ride around the Hinterland

Accommodation
Clear Mountain (might be a bit pricey no harm in checking)
Tranquil Park at Malaney
ThunderBird Park??

Please not the change of date people

Sorry people had to change the date again

Hey Trixs by all means go for it
But it will be hard to set it up so that the guys from down south can make it up & do the ride & get back in the weekend.

WHY dont ya try getting a ride together for the QLD guys 1st.
I spoke to M8ee the other night he was keen for an over nighter & wants to do our cannanball run ride as do tim & Mark.
If i can get it together it will be on in the next 3 weeks

Er looks like you got the Qlders covered Shredder. If we can't get together at Breaky Creek, I think a weekender is gonna be nigh impossible but wtf I'll give it a shot. Put me and Tony down as possibles for the Canonball Run too.

I'll have to watch for details Shane. Now that the ankle is kinda OK again, it would be good to do a run with you guys.

Well ok I picked a date that seemed far enough out to get people organised, checked to make sure that not school holidays etc and have talked to the people at the ESK Wivenhoe Motor Inn about accommodation. You are most welcome to make you own arrangements by all means.

I talked to Leanne from the motor inn and she informed me of the following

They have a self contained house that will sleep up to 6 people with 2 double beds with a set of bunks and a sleep out. Cost $140 for the first night and $100 for the 2nd. Extra person is $10 pp/night. Maximum of 8 people

Std rooms have a Queen and a single and is $67 for one per night or $77 per couple per night or $87 for 3 people.

Deluxe Room has a queen bed only and is $77 single/night $87 couple/night

There is also a Family Room that has a Queen bed and 2 sets of bunks (Leanne advises that adults shouldn't sleep on the top bunk and Im not sure if its because of the construction of the bunk bed or the because adults tend to have too much to drink and could cause themselves an injury) at 107/night for up to 4 people. Extra person is 10 per person per night.

Ok now down to the money part
Leanne strongly advised that individuals book their own rooms as they will need to take credit card details. These details are in case you bail out 7 days prior to arrival they may charge you if the room is not relet. So theres an incentive to come down. They don't charge anything until you check out.
Bike parking. They have a guard poodle??? and there is an undercover courtyard where the bikes can be left if you want your baby undercover. They have had other bike groups stay there and haven't had any trouble.
Also they have a fully licensed restaurant which opens at 10:30 in the am. They do breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Contact details and more info are here in the linky

Lol Rod there will be a sedate ride on Saturday. There will be 2 groups the "spirited riding bunch" and the "lets have a look at the scenery bunch" The route will be given out on Saturday morning. It won't be a hellishly long ride as we don't want to be killing off any of our breathern who have ridden a long way to join us. I will also post this up on the Brisbane Bikers board to see if I get any takers.

How many friends do you think I'd win going on a ride on the Cook and the #1 offspring's birthdays??SFun_kickingroinIcon_box_
As keen as I would be to do this one, (never been on a proper ride through the Brisbane Valley) I think I'd be banished from the family if I pulled that stunt!
