The following message came from the MCC list and thought it may be of interest to some.

Evening all, the halfway cafe on the putty doesn't have fuel anymore. Pi_thumbsdown

This is due to BP charging the owners 12 cents a litre for cartage to get the fuel there as I found out on Thursday when I went through.

Also the servo at the Colo river will never sell fuel again. His tanks were leaking & the RTA won't let him put new tanks in as they reckon he is too close to the river, so its refuel at the ampol on top of the hill or at Broke.

Looks like some bikes will be unable to make the trip! Wtf

If the reason is that he's too close to the river, then it'll be the EPA enforcing it not the RTA.

Colo hts has fuel & lots of it

Colo river servo is rebuilding I'm sure they will stick some pumps in Coolafro

If you go past the Broke turn off towards Singleton there are two more servos up there also

A stock K8 can go from Broke to Windsor and back at fun rate on 1 tank. Ghastly

Problem is for those "not in the know" there needs to be some signs at each end like- "last fuel for XX km"

There is no fast idle on a K8 Kwaka.... Coolsmiley

Both unleaded and Premium are now available again at the Half Way.
I was there this arvo.

From the New Owner of the Half way house on the Putty Road

He has taken over from the previous owner and will continue to run the
service station, food and fuel as before

With the intention of improving facilities, safety etc and would like to
hear from riders regarding catering for groups

Etc.

If you phone and give him an estimate of numbers he is happy to cater lunch,
morning teas etc for groups, they

Have the usual meals available at other times as before, tea and coffee,
cold drinks etc

John is also looking to improve the BBQ area so that this may be used by
clubs etc.

At the moment he has unleaded but is getting more fuel in as the previous
owner had to let the tanks run out,

However the pumps have been re-primed and are working.

We [All NSW rider who use the Putty] should support this bloke as much as possible. Sounds like he is trying to do the righty by us. Pi_thumbsup
