Phillip Isl. to GOR aprox 1hr 50 min. (am guessing)
You can also take the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliffe which should shorten the time considerably depending on ferry times.
GOR to Lorne - Wye River - Apollo Bay is about the max if you take in above from Phillip Isl.

if you exclude PI from the agenda otherwise a very early start from PI or first ferry across, but from city to apostles back to port melb. is quite possible, but expect a full on day.

PI to Rowville is about 1hr or so
From Rowville (east Melb) to Geelong takes me 1hr 45min in the car on a sunday.
Geelong to the START of the GOR is about 30mins
All times are in the car.
A few mths ago I left Rowville at 8am, drove to GOR & along to Apollo Bay. Stopped for a BBQ for about 1hr.
On the way back we turned north at Skenes Creek & headed to the Princes Hwy & then all the way back home.
Got home at 9pm

I start my holidays that monday so I am keen to know your plans. If you want to see the 12 Apostles, suggest you ride to Warnambool and get on the GOR from there. That way you will ride the whole lenght of the GOR and check out everything on the way. Like I said let me know your plans cos I wouldn't mind doing that ride again. How long you guys in tassie cos me and The Woman are heading over for 10 days of cruisen on "Big Love" on the 9th.
Woman,where's my wallet?
And whats for tea?
