It's a real bastard when you get that 1st stone chip or dent isn't it...

You will get used to the handling of the busa, I've had both old and new and the new busa outhandles the old one by a mile. I reckon you will have to wind up the preload to match your weight.
On the remarks about the rear end of the k8. I've had more people actually tell me that they like it than the other way around. In fact I'm learning to like it more the longer I have it.

The only thing I don't like about it is how the number plate sits down so low and the mudguard comes down even lower.
I'll be sorting that out soon on mine.
"If time catches up with you. You're going too slow!"

Was abit dissheartening even though I enjoyed my ride, went through two tanks of premium fuel, Definatley need to ride with other bikes in my class got sick of the other two throwing thier rides into the corners and and waiting for me in places joking how my bike is so big and heavy.not keep up with those maniacs. That will probly be the last time I go on one of those rides dont want to push your luck to often to I guess.

Supose to be going to the drags at willlowbank in two weeks for a bit of fun and see what times I can get. Any one got any tips for Racing a stock bussa for take offs ,Gear changing etc for quick times.

1st off get 1 thing straight no amount of tuning the factory suspension is going to help you with your 120 kg if you want to push it around Full Stop.
These bikes have springs to suit 75 kg riders at best, strange for a big bike but true. Spend the money upgrading springs & it will be chalk & cheese.

There no need not to ride with the liter bikes, you will have an adjustment to make to your style from your R1 to the Busa
Dont be to hard on yourself or the busa you've only done 1500 K's on it
Theres no reason you cant be up the front or doing wheelies, rolling burn outs, sliding the rear out of the corners then you can take the piss out of them when they get a shock at how you rounded them up.

We had 42 bikes on our ride last weekend big mix of brands & CC's, 11 busa's in total & they were all up the front all day even in the wet.

Heavy, Cant go round corners LOL same old shit that has been spoken since they came out in 99.
Anyone that thinks this either has never ridden 1 or cant ride.
On the streets you should be able to hold ya head high the race track is a different matter.
There has been many a hero knocked down a peg or two by these
awesome machines.

Push ya luck ? Thats what these things are made for covering big K's across this great land at great speeds with stability. Thats why you got it isnt it ? Why have it & not use it.

They said they were ulgy from day 1 in 99, people either loved or hated them. I could live with the new 1 but i dont like the rear either.

Drags well stock bike stock height is going to take some practice to get down the track quick. eg low 10s 0r '9's
start out slow & increase rpm on every pass till you get the balance between stall & wheelies.
You could aim for aleast a 10.6 to 10.8 as you goal if is your 1st time

Is this the shootout meet you plan on going to ?
If so i may see ya out here.

Dude make sure that the people who told you that the busa is ugly Stormare not on your xmas list alternatively your comment to them should be something like "its as fast as a Ferrari" and costs 0.008% of the price soShowback
You have one if not the best (price related)bike in the world with a legacy of the model being called the flagship of the company. You have to remember that opinions are like arseholes everyone's got one so cheer up and have funPi_thumbsup

Thanks for your replies, Im all good with the busa, went for a ride today to mt tamberine with the girl on the back and was a very comffy ride besides a few showers was great, I like the busa and knew she would grow on me and it has, the rear tail is fine for me now Ive grown to like it,

Shane thx for the info, changing the spring would that cost alot? the bike handles quite well just tight fast corners bit rough, overall good.
And that is the shoot out meet , ive posted in the ride and race meet forum.

Overall this bike is the best chioce for me, suits my frame and is great for riding with my partner with no more sore wrist and no more complaints from her :) Im not disheartend any more, thinking about it now I wouldent have changed my choice of bike.

The new Busa is a better handling bike than the old model but it can still be improved.
You could have the full treatment on the front & rear springs set up for your weight & ridding conditions, change the valving to atermarket products for about $1100

Or just new springs & rework stock valving for $700

I have a few mates that have owned there busa's in stock set up for years & then got the suspension done to suit there build & were rapped with the results & wont ride a stock suspension bike again.

If im off i may see you at the track

I must admit, I keep hearing people call the busa ugly. Of course they are people who don't ride one. Coolsmiley

But then again, I think Harley's look ugly, and look at how many of those are on the roads Scary

I have always loved the Busa, there is just something so very different about them. One day, I shall have one,........ one day Undecided

So never worry about what people think, the most important thing is, what you think about your ride, nothing matters after that Action-smiley-083
