I have one of those French ones? (Can't remember the name of the company) They do the colour coded tank covers with matching tank bags?

This one just zips on and zips off...........

I modified a multifit gearsack rack to fit on in place of rear two strap points it gives the missus something to lean on instaed off me and is easily removed

have just got a email from ventra.. they are going to have a rack system for the busa from approx 17/01/08 should be in production about 3 weeks after that.. if i here any more i will let everyone know

hi speed demon i am interested in haw it looks under the seat so i can get an idea on haw to go about it as i will be getting my 08 soon but the bike shop is having trouble getting a rack i have a bag and a rack of a nether bike and can modify it just need i bit of a start as you have done one it would be much appreciate for the help and a pic of the mod you dun to mount it .thanks

It is a bit scabby looking but works a treat and looks good when new bag is on, its held on to the top of the grab rail by a few big zip strips but bolts on side, makes for a quick removal if needed. missus loves it it gives her something to lean on. i didnt fancy spending $250+ on a ventura rack

I only needed a very small bag to hold bib and bobs so at Peter Stevens today I spotted this neat bag, it straps underneath to the pillion seat and sort of leaves a mat, this mat easily then with supplied clips secures the bag to the mat, makes it easy to take on and off.........$90.00 less 15% is not bad......

WOW! That's a bargain! I have a bagster cover and bag that I love, but this looks like a better solution when I have more stuff to carry.

Just a word of warning Speed Demon.

You should NEVER EVER use a bag or rack as a back rest.
It is really unsafe for a couple of reasons.
1. It puts too much weight at the rear of the bike and upsets the handling a great deal.
2. On a busa, a slip of the throttle wrist and you will be going over backwards faster than you can correct.
3. It puts an enormous amount of load on the rear subframe and could quite easily snap it.

Even the best bag rack will only allow about 40kgs of weight to be supported and if you go adding body weight to it look out.

Now you can call me a wowser but I have seen a couple of the above happen in the past few years.

Just look at simmos at Jindy, his subframe snaped possibly due to the rack.

Early model has alloy subframe, not an issue on the later steel ones.

Thanks for your concern about the horsepower & handling of my busa, but i am 44 not 14 i DO know how to ride
The handling of my bike is comprimised when my wife comes with me coz it dont like 200kg on it
I didnt say she was sitting on top of it i said leaning on it

Simmo's snapped frame also had something to do with him seeing if copper busas can defy the laws of gravity if you go fast enough, and then realising they can't.
