copperjosh Wrote:all forgiven guys. I think tonight reminded me why I don't ride with the younger fellows. Ran into a bunch of super squids tonight. Far out they are idiots. They were trying to race me everywhere. Like a little gang. The first set of lights we got to, one of the guys pulled out (think he was the tribe's leader :-) ) and full gets his race face on next to me. Bam...schooled him like 4 times all while staying under the speed limits...hahaha......
Not much of race....SQUIDS CAN'T RIDE!!!! They had some awesome protective gear too....hoodies and all...squid boys leather jacket....hehe
ARGHHH...fun fun.
Lol, they are fun, I've had like little 600s trying to drag me off from lights by squids, they are funny but awesomely dangerous to themselves. Brings to mind a sage saying "You remind me of me when I was young and stupid!"
Glad you understand bloke, you're alright.

I wanna fix this grabby, snappy clutch and need someone to put Brocks clutch mod in - who's Jap specialist for mods in Canberra? Over the years I had bikes serviced by Rick & Axle but stock services only, hear good things about Bruce in Mitchell too...tend to avoid the big bike shops in bid to avoid apprentices learning their trade on my bike.

If you have the parts why not put them in also? I'll give you a guiding hand and you'll make that magic jump from just rider to rider fixer, a very satisfying jump. I've got the manual, you've got the Jack Daniels!
I have a week off recovering from a minor op next week. Wanna have a go??

Sounds good Max, i only have the 99-00 manual, fundamentally the same as K5? - although there have been changes to clutch since then I hear. Just wondering about special tools or improvising like holding the clutch sleeve hub in place while unlock nuts etc?
TC order also for braided lines for fronts & clutch, order placed last night just waiting on his invoice so should be here early next I guess.

Hi Mark, I have the gear mate, you'll need new gasket and parts you want to put in, I have a 2002 manual, don't think there was much changing in the Gen 1 machines after 2001.
Cheers

Canberra Riders are putting a ride to Malua Bay for a Hamburger this Saturday. provided my right leg has recovered substantially I'll be heading down, the last ride was pretty good. Leaving at 0800 so an early start. If you're interested get back to me for the times/location for kick off.
Cheers

I'm keen if the weather's dry - I saw the tail enders depart Malua B the last time I was down there over Xmas w/ my surf ski. Beaut day and a great beach!
Max the stuff on order is: Brocks performance clutch mod, Brocks cam adj, Spiegler front lines & clutch. Will I need 1/4 ID hose and syringe to back fill hydraulics?
Gasket from Dahlitz this week (no stock on shelves)

The cam adjuster you'll have to have a shop do mate. The rest I can get done. I have syringe etc, just bring the brake fluid. Back filling is by far the best way to go.
I've had a bunch of varicose veins carved out of my right leg, spent overnight last night at John James private hospital. Groin to foot. The only cut giving me grief and pain in right at the juncture of groin and thigh, deep bruising and lotsa pain - that's what pain killers are for right !!!
Thursday night sound like a drinks night at Zeffs.
