Hi everybody

We got home ok on Sunday afternoon without getting too wet. It was an awesome turnout with 3200 registered riders, making the Snowy Ride the second biggest ride event after the Ulysses meetings.

It was good to see so many Hayabusa Club members there over the weekend, and it was great to put some faces to some new names. For us, since we have gone so often, it's like a yearly reunion, I was meeting up with old friends from Pheasants Nest onwards.

This year we brought our neighbour along on a slower CBR1100, he loved the weekend and booked for next year straight away. We have booked for 2010 (10th Anniversary) and 2011.

The Snowy ride is on the 6th November 2010. If every rider brought 1 more person you would double the size of the ride. That would be awesome, although I dont think Thredbo would handle the influx.

I'm considering doing the Snowy ride next year or 2011, but I'm not sure if I would enjoy it....it seems to be a giant funeral procession (too many bikes...like a giant toy run) or am I totally wrong?

Wait to u get the right blokes and hit the racetrack like roads! My tyre looks like it's growing rubber hair now!

This is certainly no procession.
It was an awesome 3 days of having a ball.

Traffic was never a problem and the men in blue were enjoying the fun.

It's not like that all. Yes there is a 'procession' but it is called a 'Mass Ride', which occurs on Saturday afternoon and goes from the ski tube into Thredbo. It is led by Goldwings because they are the bike that take the children suffering from cancer for a ride. On the Saturday there are test rides, the chair lift and toboggans operate and everyone just does there own thing.

Particpation in the mass ride is not mandatory. There is nothing mandatory about the Snowy ride. When the mass ride has finished everyone gathers around for a presentation of prizes and in the evening there is a concert.

There is accomodation available in Threbo but there is also cheaper accomodation in Jindabyne.

I guess the best suggestion that anyone can give you is come along next year for the 10th Anniversary of the Snowy Ride and see for yourself and then you can form your own opinion of the Snowy Ride.

yep your wrong..

great bloody time.

no set time nor places at your own leisure where you want to go..

its the idea of doing it for the kids!!!

and the best thing is the time you take out of your every day life to donate for the lil ones that struggle for life...

myself i rode up there every which way because of our mates ...via Western Australia....from griffith nsw.

then took off saturday relaxing having nanna nap... because i,m a big girl and met up with the lovely babybusa and 1hotbusa. and others like errrr umm crumpy!!!(westinghouse) but i was left with a triumph to ride back to our caravan park(because hubs stole my bike and mate stole his bike and mate of a mate stole his bike.)...eckkk in that alone.......

just GO!! fantasic pissup and great timePi_thumbsup
