Oh I'll do what i have been doing all along (you missed out because I didn't find you for a while) I do step by step installs to show whats involved with each component. I've done this with Lowering links Genmar Risers, exhaust, TRE etc and will continue to do installs so everyone can see how to mod their bikes!

thanks heaps will start from post 1!
OK if you want the whole entire story from square one go here
http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30019
This is from day one when I started with a basically stock Busa. All of the Pictures and installs are there but it's going to be a long read (nearly a year long!) but then you'll have the whole story

thanks will jump to the good bits!
OK guys lets get the ball rolling.
The last two times I went to the Texas Mile I ran an IVAN'S T.R.E. (Timing Retard Eliminator). Suzuki uses a signal from the G.P.S. (Gear Position Sensor) to tell the ECU the Bike is in 6th gear. The ECU then retards the timing to prevent the bike from running above 186MPH. The T.R.E. Tells the ECU that the Bike is in 5th gear all of the time allowing it to pull as far as the engine has power to pull. The problem is this equals a rough idle in neutral and less than optimal mapping because the ECU is running the 5th gear map in all gears.
So after some research We have decided to run the Boost By Smith De-Restrictor. The De-Restrictor tells the ECU the correct values in every gear until 6th which it then tells the ECU is still 5th. Eliminating the top speed restriction without the shortfalls of a T.R.E.. Also the price is considerably cheaper about $30 US. The De-Restrictor comes in two Models one for Suzuki's with a gear position read out on the Dash and those without a gear indicator. If you have a bike with a gear indicator the De-Restrictor with a switch on it is the one you want. This allows you to turn it on or off which makes the Gear Position readout on the Dash read normally and leaves the speed restriction in place until the switch position is changed.
This is our friend Hugo he is headed to the Texas Mile Land Speed Races with us. I ran his stock 08 Busa in March to a best of 182MPH. So hopefully with the DeRestrictor it will run bigger numbers. Hugo offered to use his Bike for the Install pics so here we go
Hugo and the De-Restrictor, compared to the business card you can see it's pretty small overall just some plugs and wire and a switch all in abrasion resistant sleeve.
Off with the seat and then up with the Tank(if you need more detailed instructions on this get help! You need it)
Once the Tank is up this is what your going to see on the left side of the bike(most Suzuki's are going to be the same as the Busa) there are two white plugs under here with 3 wires each.
Now heres the trick, one of these plugs goes to the Fuel pump/Fuel Tank, The other one goes down to the G.P.S. so you want to unplug the one that DOES NOT go to the Fuel tank!
Now just plug the De-Restrictor into the two sides of the plug you just undid.
Pretty simple so far right? Should look like this
At this point a good test to make sure the De-Restrictor is plugged in correctly is to turn the bike on and shift it through the gears(you may have to rock it back and forth to get it to shift) OR you can have a buddy help you pull the clutch in start the bike and shift it through the gears.
If you have plugged it into the correct plug your gear indicator will show 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and then when you shift into 6th it will display 6th for about 1 second then the display will read 5th! IF it displays 6th gear and doesn't change back to 5th try flipping the switch.
Just like that your Bike is now De-Restrcted. The next and final step is deciding where to mount the switch. When we did Terry's Busa we drilled a small hole up near the front of the inner fairings out of sight. Hugo chose to go a little more stealth by placing it in the trunk
So just like that you just eliminated the top speed restriction on your Suzuki. Now for the disclaimer.
Disclaimer
This is probably illegal, immoral, unethical, environmentally irresponsible and should only be performed on racing machines which will never see use on public roads. Furthermore is you do this install and ride your bike at it's max speed it's not my fault if you crash, explode, become addicted to speed or blast a hole into the time space continuum resulting in the end of Mankind.
Happy riding

Marie ................... respectfully asking here ................... any reason why you didn't go the ECU re flash route to get rid of restrictions ? Also will you use ECU flashing to run your NOS ?
Cheers

At the time we started there wasn't anyone really Reflashing(A year ago) It has since become pretty common and we may very likely do all of this with our Next dyno tune. We are hpoing to get the HeavyBus tuned by Texas Tuner Johnny Cheese. IF we have time and $$$ for that we will go the reflash route. But at this point we are just barely coming to terms with using the Power Commander setup so it might be better for us to wait to start learning a new system all over again.

very unfortunate hope all turns out well!
I really feel like I owe everyone an apology and explanation for my actions. Undergoing more stress than I have ever had. I panicked and made the biggest mistake of my life. Between my brother, who constantly tries to con me for whatever he can get, my baby sister, who I just picked up from the Dallas area when she called saying she needed help due to drug abuse, that just moved in with us and is in her senior year of high school and "knows it all", work being unbelievably busy, new product line and pressure from a huge contract, I couldn't handle it at all, pulled out and almost lost the person I need and love the most. I am truly blessed that he was willing to let me back in his life, and I hope that my sponsors and readers will do the same. I am very sorry for disappointing my husband, my sponsors and all of my readers. I am going to work very hard to earn back all the respect that this mistake cost me.
I am truly sorry,
Marie

Hi Marie, We have all made mistakes, drink a glass of concrete & harden the F#$@ up! U ride a 'Busa (fast), u've got nearly every 'Busa rider world wide reading ur posts and crossing their fingers for ur success, ur Hubby & the M/C world & in particular, the 'Busa world will stand by u. Never ever give up, no matter how hard it may seem!.
I respect ur LSR attempts, I come from a roadracing background and a couple of endurance records, FarRides and IBA's. For quite a few years now I have ridden my bike(s) with my dog(s) sitting on the tank raising money and awareness for various charities, we average around 80,000klms (50,000miles) per year. My dog, "Bundy" who is now 4y.o. has covered some 300,000klms and as far as I am aware is also the fastest dog on a motorcycle in the world, officially clocked at 283kph (about 175mph?). My partner & I are also battlers and rely on help from friends and sponsorship. If we can overcome the knockers and the "Do-Gooder wowsers", animal rights activists etc we are hoping to convince the LSR organisers to let Bundy & I run at Lake Eyre salt flats, no particular class, we just want to do a 200mph pass & put Bundy into the 200mph club!.
Please look at my You tube attachements, u will get an idea what I am on about!lol.
I wish u every success and will be following ur progress as u post it.
Take Care,
Tex & Bundy
