Hey Gazza, just for fun mate, teaching myself to go long range after many years of concentrating on my handguns, with the rifles being secondary. Picked a fox up at a little over 260 meters over a spotlight the first shot it fired in anger a couple of weeks ago. In daylight she will reach over a kilometer to around a mile.The longest shot made with an AI in .338LM was in Afghanistan and that was at 2200meters. Head shot on a bloke riding a bicycle wearing a bomb belt. That's some serious maths.

If they hear the bang I missed!

G'day Max,
Just worked out a load for her. 32g Nosler projectiles and 27.5g of BM2 (ADI powder) Remington cases and Federal BR primers, shoots better than I can hold.

Sorry for taking so long to get Gazza.

I just bought a new cannon, Sako in .338 Lapua Magnum. She's for really long range. I'm putting 250grain Sierra's behind 98 grains of AR2225 with a Remington magnum primer. They're doing a little under 3k and are accurate at pretty extreme ranges. The scope is a Nightforce 12-42X 56 and has an illuminated reticule. The whole thing cost a lot of money but what price can you put on Fun?

2 kays pretty well pulls it up unless you are the sniper from Hell mate. I'm still zeroing her in, have developed a consistent load as spoken above, got it from a sniper instructor in the USA - Demigod LLC. Zak Smith - certainly knows his stuff.

so at 3 kays you're safe mate.

That new toy of yours brings new meaning to the saying...... if you can see it, it's in range.....

I have only fired seven shots in "anger" with my new toy and still 100% record. After all the rain we have had the grass is that long it's hard to see anything at long range.

bolt action mate, all the better snipers are in Bolt action. The PSG1 is made by H&K - "no compromise" Love H&K gear, great quality, few stoppages, easy to work with etc.

The growing grass is great for feed but really buggers us up aye! mind you, the grass gives the poor little bunny a running chance doesn't it. It's been a fair while since they had anywhere to hide.
