Possible Club Track Day? (Vic)
#46
Sorry Luc, I already changed.

Quote:Scott, have we organised a morning tea? Can I help organise something? Do we all chip in (or is it your treat?

I had just planned on bringing a can of Coke for everyone and a small snack that I traditionally take to track days...but I now have no idea how many people from the group plus ring ins (most welcome) are actually going. Plus there are spectators going as well. The canteen will be open and the Superbike School also make tea/coffee and a few biscuits available, so maybe we should not worry about anything extra. I would hate to take something for some and then others miss out.

Con-o-coke? Why dosnt someone take a gas-bbq and we each bring a kilo of sausages and a loaf of bread. That will feed everyone if 3 or 4 of us do that. But i havnt got a small bbq (only a huge one). Anyone willing to lend one?

Probably because there is a cooked lunch included?

Well, what better way than to match it with a cooked morning tea. The cooked lunch is only for the riders you know. Cmon Scott... be enthusiastic for me!

Not that I am trying to get out of cooking a BBQ (nah, not at all), but actually, the guests can have a cooked lunch too if they want. $13.00 I think it is from memory...you just have to let them know at the start of the day.

Scott... how about scones and tea? (you yuppie)

The only reason I signed up for the most expensive track day of the year was so I could have morning tea with my buddies... geez.

Oh well, guess I'll pack my own morning tea.

Luc, pit garages are $90 (I think). Did you want to run some warmers? We usually just park next to our car and trailor rather than in pit lane. Set up some chairs, fuel and snacks are close by, somewhere to put your gear in between sessions.

Brendon, I'll have something for you mate...my traditional track day morning tea.

Yeah, I think you're right...I recall flipping out when they told me how much they are especially when powered shelter is free at places like wintonD">

I was thinking about using warmers, Raven Racing hire them (when they decide to show up ) on the day can't remember how much for...

Recently I've learned that the use of tyre warmers on track days reduce the amount of wear on the tyres and help them last longer. This is because the process of heating a tyre up and letting it cool down actually breaks down the compound of the tyre and thereby makes it more prone to wear. So if you can reduce the amount of times that a tyre is heated up and then cooled down on the track throughout its life, you can lengthen the life of the tyre.

But then I suppose you have to trade that off against the cost of the pit garage and the tyre warmers themselves and the extra hassle of mucking around with them...which in turn has to be traded off against the bonus of not having to do a couple of warm up laps...dah, dah, dah.

I don't own any tyre warmers.

Have a great day tomorrow guys.
Try not to think about me stuck at work.
Watch for the GSXR750, I saw him getting the machine tweaked today at a secret location in the Western Suburbs.
Have fun.
Cheers, Phil. "Keeping an eye on things, not racing"!
