RE the TRE:
Can't say about the lower 10k rev limit on a Busa, but I have seen gears make better power on various Suzukis. I've seen some make better power in 6th, until the last 500 rpm, where the ignition was intentionally retarded (cutting some high speed ability) and some other models made better power in 5th.
All testing was done under steady state dyno loading so that incorrect inertial mass values in a sweep test are not a factor.
RE Yosh cams in a Busa:
Usually see about 6ish improvement about 6kish with a bit (not horrible) of a low rpm power loss. Pretty good for a dropin item! :-)
We ended up designing a Megacycle cam that didn't lose below 6k and gained 6-8 True HP from 7k on up and uses stock valve springs. Just a bit improved and Megacycle is right across the street and I can usually get whatever I want ground up. Our machine shop makes their Ferrari and Maserati billet cam blanks.
All of the above testing experience is when using a steady state dynamometer test and results when using inertia loading in a 4th gear sweep test will probably be different in amounts of power and also the shape of the power curve, esp. past the power peak, where inertia power tests tend to drop off on high hp bikes.
If someone wants to know more about that great unknown subject, just ask -

Since the stacks work i,m interested in the fatback cam and stack set up.Especially if i don,t lose out from 3-6000.HAve you done any testing on this combo marc? And to faster, if your tre cuts out at 10 with a pc3 you,ve cut your market in half as all those already with pc3 aren,t going to remove them to see if their bikes will run to 10800rpm.With a standard ivans dads bike ran to 10680 with a pc3 usb.Down the track i may indeed unplug the pc3 and yosh map, provided it can be reversed to make my judgements on my bike.Good or bad I,m open.
I got a set of stacks of marc today (he is a top bloke to deal with fast delivery and is mad like the rest of us), I took it only for a short blast tonight but feels good, I have lost no bottom end at all if any thing its better (with the air box mod done), time will tell maybe more so at the drags next time out, one thing when riding now its sounds mean not to loud but sounds like a blower on it pumping away, these stacks are not that short after all they are not far off the log ones allready fitted with out the bends, if anyone wants to try them out if unsure and is thinking about getting some, I'll swap my air box on to your bike and you can test try them and you can make up your own mind,
Cheers Robert
Aren't all Busas Copper & Plated, the others are just all very poor slow ugly copies !!!!!

Did I ever mention that your forum has more logical members than the "other" Haybusa organization?
One of the reasons the Factory Pro stacks work better than stock type stacks is that they have better velocity (smaller stack ID) than the stock ones. If you notice on the patent pending rubbers, they have a "tongue" that goes into the throttle body's bellmouth, necking it down, keeping velocity sig. higher for stronger, hp producing pressure waves.
BTW - I am still trying to figure out how to describe the improvement in the intake sound.....
Best regards, thanks and have a great day -

Simmo there will be some change in tone from the Stacks but most of it will be from the Airbox mod. It always reminded of Webbers on cars in the old days, I quite liked the bark as well.
Will be interested to see your progress with the stacks at the drags, what are you expecting maybe a tenth or two?

Just to stay on the bike would be a good start
Time, Top end speed, I'm going over the line at the end of 4 gear now it will be good to see if that changes at all
Cheers Robert

As 10,000 true rpm is about 10400 on my tacho and i was shifting at that it would be interesting to see what revs the engine drops to upon gearchange. As the the biggest gain is from 7-9500 tailing to zero by 10k I suppose this would determine whether trap speed and et would change.I was ready to put theory into practice last bike night but the rain stuffed that idea.Nice to see another member getting the same results.Maybe people will believe us now?Not until we run an eigth i suppose.Personally i found the improvement more noticeable than fitting a 4 into 1 simply because the improvement can be felt already at part throttle where the 4 into 1 is most noticeable at full throttle.
Now you have a mission Rob report all fndings here! Shame you didn't get them ready for a run yesterday, best looking weather for the last few weeks and probably the next few also.
This is a dyno without stacks (last year) and stacks fitted this year.
