The original Kanji stickers are about $187 each and I don't know what other stickers you refer to.

There are 2 stickers which come out of each vent. They are black and silver (On a Red & Black 05 model) and kind of look like the nike tick.

So.... gotta do an oil change this weekend and was wondering if I should just stick with the OEM filter or if there is a comparable alternative.... one that someone has tested and we know is good. Cost and outlets ?

Stick with the stock filter mate they are not that expensive and are a proven product. You can buy a cheaper alternative but for a couple of bucks why risk it.
