I enjoy fast, would'nt own a Busa if I didn't - but some things are just not on.
If this message doesn't get to you Terry - don't worry I'll be looking for you at the next ride, you pull a crazy ass stunt near me again like you did on Vic mt on sunday (especially if i'm two up) there will be a size 10 propelling your shiny gixxer into the nearest gum tree mate - do we understand each other ?
Ruffy
The problem with all this is that it is detracting from what was a good ride, on a good day, and 12 guys and girls who just wanted to have a good time. It's all fun and laughs, till someone crashes his bike. I'm sure that Kevy and Terry dont mean any harm to anyone, they didn't mean to stir all this up ,im sure. I'm sure we all now get the point!.Lets put it behind us and enjoy ousselves

Hey Ruffy why dont you tell us what your really thinking
Arguing with idiots is like wrestling a pig in the mud, you both get dirty but the pig enjoys it!
Love riding with the group Edited by: Taubusa at: 25/8/06 1:48 am
ruff I don't know what ride you were on last week but fact.
As I rode down mount Vic there were only three bikes in front of me 1 ray on his most impressive blinged up busa. 2 Terry on his Gixer 3. the surgeon on his busa, followed by myself. So I don't know how it was possible that Terry did what you said. Unfortunate that Michael fell of on the day. Where all big boys lets cut the bs it was a good ride with good company.
there's nothing wrong with having some 'ride rules' when riding in a group. it makes it safer. as we all know, some bikers think it's a given that riding a bike means you don't have to obey the road rules, when everyone does that it gets bloody dangerous. I have been on a ride with people I didn't know well and they rode like a pack of idiots. I just pulled over, did a u-turn and went off by myself.
it's up to the group to educate new riders to the group's 'ride rules' - that way everyone has fun and gets home too. the alternative is to not allow guest riders which also has it's merits.
I do most of my riding solo and I never have a problem.

Hey Chilli, chill out. I was on that ride that day. We didnt ride like idiots, there were about 5-6 of us on sports bikes, and you were on a cruiser doing about 60ks per hour. What did you think was going to happen.
Ive had cruisers in the past, and when i mistakenly took it out with the boys, i had no chance of keeping up, but i didnt winge and go home. The group will always wait somewhere for a slower rider.
I think group riding is the most fun, we all need to be aware of our own skills, and we Must take responseability for our own actions

Quote:Its not that the Aprillias don't like corners, all it takes is when your running a little hot is a loss of concentration for a split second into a corner and its all over
I can vouch for that...around 2 seconds to be exact...
Re Quote:nannapack at Jindy
I'm only going on the day ride if there are a couple of groups to choose from.
Fast and Faster.
I am over being sucked in to keep up with the pack...it ain't worth it.
I have a great ride and fun round some excellent corners all the same....you don't have to be at 10 10ths to have a good time.
Dead is not a good look, and a broken bike is even worse if you survive to see it!
Leave the ego's in the drawer at home....I must be getting older and wiser...
That Aprillia man is VERY lucky indeed.
Interesting topic to see how many DO get sucked in to the competitive side...suppose it is natural to compete though... Cheers,
Pete

no no no loverboy - I wasn't talking about 'the' ride regarding the Aprilia - I wasn't there so how can I comment?
I am referring to situations on rides where things get out of hand. from my point of view I'd rather go off by myself than ride with others that made me feel uncomfortable or unsafe as that appears to be the general consensus about 'the' ride that started this thread.
and I wasn't referring to 'our' ride either where the TLR offed. No need to be so sensitive. I agree, you guys DIDN’T ride like idiots. don't read anything into my post. do you think that's the only group ride I've ever been on?? I'm not having a shot at anyone here - believe me. I didn't whinge and go home and I certainly didn't expect anyone to wait for me.
I do agree with your last comment – ‘we must take responsibility for our own actions’ and that’s what I was referring to in my post. I’m only new to this site so if the protocols here are different to other forums I post on please forgive me. I didn’t write my comments to attack anyone, no need to take offence – just relax.

Chilli,
There are no protocols here so say exactly what you want and in any way you want thats what makes this site unique. Some will pat you on the back and others will flame you.
There is room on this site (unlike many others) for you to say your piece be it right or wrong.
The only hard and fast rule here is that rocket is a wanker and you have to flame him every chance you get. Bruce

Just ask me about how hot the flames get Chilli, but I will have my revenge,TRUST ME.

Ps Reddy I think you may find out you have been bagging the wrong rider out that split you, but what would I know mine is only second hand news & the alleged culprit was not with us last weekend
Cheers Robert
