I don't know if you are indeed a "Moderator" or just posing as one with a self nominated "Title". I suspect you do not have the skills to handle the title. So perhaps your little cute video is only entertaining and useful when applied to and viewed by yourself. Perhaps also, you might imagine yourself in the video whereas in real-life, you would not have the guts to do a similar act. Either way it's lame. There is a saying, "Horses for Courses" and for all the other partakers on this interesting and genuinely legitimate thread about how 1400 owners view Busa owners and vice versa, this saying applies to perfection and to several who actually own both machines, they would also understand this perfectly. Unfortunately, in an imperfect World, "Moderators" "Judges", "Police" and "Politicians" have their own World-View and Ego generated Agendas to push, (when they feel like representing no one), to either make themselves heard or portray themselves as being more important than they really are! It's basically a Loser's (ie; Wa*k**'s) Game. One word of caution, do not FW McTavish unless you like a view of the sky from beneath his boots. He is a genuinely nice guy who is interested in owning both the 14 and the Busa, I suspect because he wants to also perform his party trick (of picking both wheels of his 14 off the ground), upon the newly acquired Busa. Just as I thought, some people can read but do not understand what the writing is about. It's called basic literacy and a small amount of decency...blah blah blah... Move on Rainbow 7.

I really can't see the appeal of the 1400. The only one I have seen was, according to the sales bloke, traded in with bugger all kays on a new Gen 2 Hayabusa. I'm sure it is a decent ride, but it is ugly as sin. Personally, if I was to get a second bike, the only real choice would be one of those BMW dual purpose things.

The Busa is geared a bit too much(high) for high speed and having ridden both bikes side by side, the 14 also turns in quicker as well, much lighter to steer. However, if you do a roll on, say in 2nd the Busa will overhaul the 14, even if the 14 gets a jump at the beginning. This is because the Busa power-band keeps hauling when the 14 tapers off. Make no mistake though bystanders, the 14 is very very useful (fast) indeed in the mountains where 2nd gear out of corners decide who's infront. Out where the roads unbend a little, the Busa will tear away from above 250. Below that the 14 will be right there with you, though copping a mighty wind blast, whereas the Busa is sheer serenity. I would not swap my Busa for the 14, but will add the 14 as companion. It (14) is iconic in that there is really no other muscle bike out there like it. The pure lines and muscular everything appeals to a certain type of rider. Put it this way, it's no pansy and a 14 owner/rider who does not need or wish to have a fairing, liquid cooling and a top speed of over 280, could very well live very happily without ever thinking he "must have" a Hayabusa. With tuning such as turbo charging and a change of gearing plus some aerodynamic modifications, I think the 14 will have few equals. However, as a straight out of the box machine, the Hayabusa, for my taste and money, has no equal. That's why it's in my garage. |
