No 001 was brought in by Suzuki for initial promo work when first released so most jorno pics and first exhibition of the bike were of the 001. What I understand is that suzi never registered the bike, its never been ridden and has kept it for their history museum.

No.002 was bought by JP who worked at suzi at the time. Both copper/silver.

Itâ€s over. The end of an era. This was actually my first bike (I donâ€t like think of the 1982 Honda VT 500 learnerâ€s bike that I had for 2 months just before I got the Busa)

As a few of you may remember, about 6 months ago I had mentioned how I donâ€t ride much anymore because I use the car to pick up kids from school, etc, and I had decided I would turn the Hayabusa into a track-bike and slowly remove much of the bling bling…

...but a month ago I had my first “accident”… if you can call falling off at 2km/h an accident. I basically had a brake master cylinder fail suddenly and lock up the front as I was taking off from a set of lights (as far as I can tell). The front locked up, the wheel slipped and the bike fell on itâ€s right side slowly. I picked up the bike thinking it would be fine, but the front seemed to have locked up so I got it towed away.

A week later the insurer (e-bike) had assessed it as a write off! I still donâ€t understand why, but they mentioned there was a small scratch on the frame!?!?!

Here are photos of the damage. If I didnâ€t have insurance I think I wouldâ€ve bought a mirror, a frame slider, painted the fairing and kept it, but itâ€s been taken out of my hands…

…and here it is, “written-off”

The insurer has been great. They paid up Agreed Value, and without saying how much, it is enough to buy a new Busa and have some left over for bling!

Farewell my bling bling machine. You will be missed!

Sorry to see it go Frown, but maybe/hopefully Volvi is correct and the insurer will sell it back to you at a discounted price.

Really sorry to see that PAN.
Your bike has been a star attraction on the forum for about 5 years.

I hope you get a very good replacement and consider keeping it on the road.
