but are you buying this bike to enjoy or to worry about sale? keep up poper maintanence and servicing and you can ride a busa as hard as you want for a long time with no ill effects. FBR1347's bike is a prime example 80,000kms of hard abuse with countless runs down the drag strip, hard touring km's and lotsa burnouts and no issues. the point i was trying to make was stop worrying about resale before you even have the bike and just ride the damn thing. plus if your not gonna ride it hard and use the bikes power why buy it? why not buy a cruiser or tourer with less power a more chance of keeping your license.

I couldnt wait for my bike k8 07 compliance to come, it wouldnt have bothered me if it was built the year before or the year after because it was the new K8. Im 45 now and will probably have it till im 100 or dead which ever comes first.
If you are concerned about resale, crate your bike up and sell it in 25 years time when it will be classed as vintage.
Im always too caught up in the moment when riding my busa to give a rats arse about resale.
What happens if you have an accident the year wont matter a bit.
Just ride it and enjoy it

i agree with speed demon. ride it and enjoy it. if your worried about resale buy a 1000cc jap bike and compare the difference. i know which bike i would prefer. when i spoke to my dealer whom i've known for 15 years. an 08 model is an 08 model. it will be based on the overall condition of the bike and if your worried about $500 worst case scenario difference. buy a scooter!
