Dan85 Wrote:i want the a/f for two reasons. firstly id like a gauge o the bike so i cant see hw the ratio varie with throttle and load while im riding so i can see how it affects performance etc.and secondly id like to see about tuning the three different maps on my bike for 3 different sitautions rather than just full power, part power and even less than part power as the bike is now

as has been mentioned , you'll need to be in a position to log TP and rpms before making changes to the fuel maps and on the 08's Ignition variations and secondaries opening to control power

so is there ny benefit removing the secondaries gazza? i know thy do it on the zx14's with some success. i like the autometer gauge but would prefer a different system i wonder if u cna mix and match gauges with data loggers?

You need to ask the question as to what benefits do you want or foresee?...I dont have any experience removing the 2ndaries on the 08 so sorry I cant help you out.

Most info can be logged....however swapping and changing has never been easy due to protocols--often its easier to stick with company like for likes in a system..unless you have a very good understanding of these and are able to diagnose root cause.

Many on this board will share i'm sure the headaches of instruments and dataloggers...getting protocols and handshaking to happen can be painfull...BUT hey its not rocket science but for a novice it appears that way especially coming to terms with the language ..if you dont have an engineering, science or IT background it can be daunting for some.

hope this helps..I'm sure others will chime in with good and not so good experiences.

thanks gazza. i do havea engineering back ground so hopefully it helps hahahah not likely in my case tho hahaha. in regard to removing the secondries no idea what it might achieve. not really sure what the secondaries are for i know they remain partly closed in c and b map but other than that i dont understand the need for them.
