Ok. So Saturday Morn off the boat. Just thinking out loud here.
"Batties 3 day tour"
We need accom in Launceston Sat night. Any suggestions?
Sunday night at St. Marys Hotel.
We finish at Richmond.
I'm gonna book Mon, Tues, Wed. in Hobart. - Was looking at "Balmoral Motor Inn." 3 night Special.
Looking at 3 options for the 2 day rides - after advice here too.
definitely want to explore this area
Is this worth it? or just another dead end road?
never explored up the guts.
(Done all the Port Arthur area before)
Thursday night at Either Strahen or Queenstown. - anywhere good to stay, Was just gonna Wotif and/or wing it.
Finish back at the Ferry in Devonport early arvo on The Friday

The trip to Strathgordon is meant to be good from what I have read. I'm looking at doing this trip after doing the West coast and East coast.
Your 3rd trip around the guts has a section of dirt down the west side of the Great Lake. The road up the east side of the Great Lake via Poatina is good.
Would have liked to do the trip down to Tassie in Feb with you guys, but I had to line it up with school holidays in Jan as the misses and kids are flying down to stay with friends in Chudleigh west of Deloraine.

Mozzie is right about the dirt section on your centre run mate.... But if you changed your run to Queenstown to go via the highlands then yo get the best of both.
Hobart to Miena (Great Lakes Highlands) via Highland Lakes Road
Miena to Lyell Highway via Marlborogh highway..

Booked St Marys Hotel for myself on 16/02... They said they only got bookings for Volvi and Wardy....
if anyone else is up for the ride and looking at staying might want to book in ASAP to ensure a bed as next accommodation is about 30-40 klm away I think...
COMON all u other Tassie busa riders.. get ur gear on and join in. It doesn;t have to be for all 3 days, pick 1 or 2 LOL

Okay GOOFTROOP has offered to show us his roads on DAY 1 so if I have it right the following is the new route for DAY 1
puts your day off the boat at about 300 klm and should take us 5 -6 hours to get to Launceston
Can have morning tea coffee at Burnie and a Lunch at Deloraine
Can stop at Honey shop in Mole Creek and I am sure there are plenty of picture stops on the way
Personally I have to confess it's been about 25 years since I did Hellyer Gorge on a bike LOL and the bike was a piece of shyte back then
