Very Interesting guys and Heidi
Hey Bruce if you want interesting there's a gravel rd that cuts from Salmon Gums through to Ravensthorpe that would save you time but guys I know with 4x4's reckon it's rough as guts so there's another option.
Don't no the road myself but you did say interesting...
Have you guys thought about having ago and the Aus Land Speed Record there's plenty of straight road between here and there, it kinda entered my mind when you mentioned Track Days, Why not the Drags so why not keep the speed theme up and go for the Speed Record as well .
Anyway looking forward to watching and reading this thread just like a lot of others on here...
Cheers Rev004.
Rev the club already has a:
Speed record holder - Greg (Maj)
Drag record holder - Leonard & Dee (Legend)
Endurance record holder - Tex & Jen (Motoplast)
All of who are totally dedicated to their goals.
The three (or 4) of us would never presume to challenge those records we dont have the single minded dedication needed to do that (Simmo maybe).
We are just having stupid pointless fun.

On the way home, ABSOLUTELY!! On the way there we are on a bit of a tight time frame, so I think we should just get there. On the way home, I want to go to wave rock! I'll take a surfboard so Simmo and I can take dumb photos of each other.
Softer than a really soft thing.
What! I seem to remember someone having a bleeding arse. Don't talk to me about SOFT!

So are you guys riding or towing the bikes?
If you are going to tow, I might be able to supply the tow vehicle with free fuel for you.

Bruce is towing to PI as Hes taking one of His track bikes, I'll be riding the whole way I think at this stage
Ok Simmo, Bruce and special guest star, I have plotted out route! It is so do-able I think we should add a trackday in Adelaide to make it more interesting. It will be 4686kms to get there, haven't plotted the route home, we can freestyle that.
UPDATE
13 Nov: Sydney/Canberra/PI, 1106kms
14 Nov: trackday PI
15 Nov: trackday PI, then pack the trailer and drive across Melbourne heading for Adelaide, probably stop at Horsham to sleep (423kms)
16 Nov: Horsham to Adelaide(429kms) to pick up Simmo via Greeny's (hope to be there by 10amish) then hit the road and ride as far as we can that day. If we leave Greeny at a reasonable time, we should be able to make 800kms, which is CEDUNA! I remember Ceduna last time, helpful police and a caravan park owner who we think had cameras in the vans.
17 Nov: If we stop in Ceduna, then the logical next stop is Norseman, 1200kms
18 Nov: Norseman to Pemberton, 834kms to meet the WA mob early afternoon
This is do-able.
It is 2809kms Adelaide to Pemberton, so it will be over 1000kms a day and we won't be match fit, but it will be something to work towards. Coming home we do the dirt to Norseman, ooooooorrrrrrrr.......... we turn right when we hit the ocean and take the long way home.
Can we go now?

18/11/11 "you" meet the WA mob... then?
What's the rest of it?
When do we organise the Welcome Home party?
We'll use Tathra as the welcome home party, promise not to wash the bikes (that's an easy promise). No plans for the way home, we are on no real time frame. We might spend a night in Collie with the lesser-known arm of the busa club, we might sleep out in the dirt one night, we might turn right instead of left to come back. Who knows, it is an ADVENTURE! This is way more planning than last time already, let's not break our record huh?
