K8 Clutch Fade
#16
My old man used to own a motorcycle dealership many years ago and his chief mechanic at the time was extremely thorough. I recently bought my Busa from Witch Cycles in Rockingham and guess who the mechanic is there so I am more than happy to recommend him. I think his name is Paul.

Either way I'd be taking my bike elsewhere and getting another opinion.

As for my K9. Clutch fluid is crystal clear and doesn't slip. 8500km's and recent full Yoshi system. Normal discoloration sound like a lot of crap to me.

Thanks for that Huls, I spoke to Vic Park suzi shop(brought bike new from Midland SS) to see if they would help. Guess what - they told me "yes - disclouration is normal on gen2 busas", and although they would service it (and maybe check it out) I would have to return to original dealer if it was a warrenty claim Wtf. I'll pop into Rockingham shop as advised and see if I can get some help from Paul. Cheers

Warranty can be honoured by ANY Suxuki dealer ............. the reason they brush you off is because Suxuki only pay bare minimal rates for warranty work. So as a business it's not profitable for their mechanic to be working on your bike making $20 an hour when they can be charging out a "normal" job at $80 an hour.
Given that they made no profit from the sale of the bike it's fair in one way ......... but not what I'd call good PR.

I should add that in 20 months of riding a k8 with over 30,000k s on the clock that there is a slight discoloration of the fluid in the visi glass at the resevoir on my bike.
It is a shade darker than the brake fluid but in no way as dark as the fluid in Gen 1 bikes used to get.
This hasn't affected the clutch operation in any way.
