@ busakid08 - I'm pretty sure that where Mark is parked in the photo is not where he was hit. Probably a few metres back up the road.
@ missy-moo - I think busakid was referring to Mark's crash - but maybe both.

G'day Ross79,

Not mine. This one looks like it's been layed down as well as rear damage. Mine was clean from the seat forward.

Sorry to see this happen to you again.
Maybe you better get a white one next time mate.

Hey Ray,

At this stage, I think climbing back on is not an option. The family's beating me up big time saying "it's a wake up call, how can you scrap 2 big roadies in 6 mths and walk away unscratched, someones trying to tell you something!"
Maybe they have a point. Meanwhile, I just can't believe it. Been riding for 25yrs and apart from a slide on a track day, 2008's been a pisser of a year!! Thanks for your thoughts, and to everyone else as well.

Hmmm, strange how the headers got damaged. Mine certainly copped a bigger kick up the arse than yours and the headers were fine.

Back wheel was cactus though.

Not cheap to repair.

Mark, in a couple of years your family will notice how you've lost your spark. The 'zing' that the old bike-riding Mark had is no longer. 'Joie de vivre' has turned to apathetic melancholy. Soon they'll encourage you to buy another bike. Something 'safer'. A scooter maybe?

Camel

Hey Camel,

I dread the thought of a B double whacking a scooter!

I also was amused at the amount of "covert" damage. Somehow I think the guy that accessed it was on my side. Anyway, at the end of the day, if a little poetic licence is what's required to push it over the write off line, then I'm not complaining! I'd rather that than a ride that's had about 13k worth of repairs done to it.

By the way Camel, you mentioned that yours copped a rear ender. I noticed one on ebay that had substantial rear damage, is that your's?

Cheers

No, I bought mine from auction already bum-remodelled, (I just realised why my headers are okay - it had yoshi cans on it and they folded like paper). I checked measured everything, and anything that was not to spec was replaced, i.e. rear wheel, tyre, cans, subframe, tailight, rear plastic, one flame, front seat, rear master cyl, rear caliper. I'm glad I took this route. It's a top bike.

No doubt it will be at the auction by now. The All-Trans cocksucker that smacked me, no doubt still off his face on uppers from a night of driving, reckoned he didn't see me, thank goodness needle dick saw the red light that I was stopped at cause another 5 or 10 kph and it probably would have been good night. Even though I was punch about 5 meters from where I had stopped, I managed to keep the old girl and me upright. Sadley though, the impact created a lot of hidden nasties. Both cans, headers, sub frame, rear cowl, lower fairing and tail light copped it. There was a question mark on the rear rim where the BB on truck(B double mind you)impacted it. Apparently when they were accessing it, the tyre kept loosing pressure which could have possibly meant a cracked rim. Needless to say...a write-off. Not having alot of joy with orange Busa's!

Mate....you are 100% correct about orange k8's and 2008 being a crap year.... I got taken out by a P-Plater who "didn't see me" in June 2008 on my brand new orange/black k8. Ended up with a broken ankle and a pin in my foot and still can't walk properly 13 months later! Thankgoodness for insurance tho...a shiny new orange busa landed in my driveway until December 2008 when a woman I work with backed over it in the staff carpark!!! Not happy Jan!!

Needless to say I figured all my troubles were over when 2009 came along then in May this year I hit a patch of diesel coming into an intersection (at 20km an hour!) and ended up in the gravel with $12k of damage....go figure.

So anyway, the new FULL BLACK busa should be arriving next week. Loved the Orange but 3 bike accidents in 12 months when I've never had one in 12 years of riding should be telling me something.... think I'm gonna hide the new one in the shed until my better half says it's ok for me to ride again!Undecided hehe
