Hello from HeavyBusRacing
Or dry shot with the "boostbysmith "stuff, You could use the nos side of what you have and do all the fuel stuff with the std ecu reflashed, throttle switch and rev switch all done within the std ecu,
done one so far and it is realy simple , fairly std bike went from 167hp to 207 with 4 x .018 jets in a airbox mounted distribution block .
Good to see you back :)

OOOH! AHHH! that looks NICE!
This view shows you where we put the fuel pump and fuel filter, pretty much a perfect fit in the valley on top of the Transmission. It was wrapped in closed cell foam to protect it from heat and vibration.

If you look at the #2 cylinder nozzle in this picture this shows how careful you have to be with planning. We tried to keep the mounting positions all similar. When we got to #2 (We were working from the R to L) we drilled the hole and tapped it and discovered the Nozzle wouldn't screw in! The hose fittings were just about 1/16th of an inch to wide and hit the bulge for the thermostat housing!

No sweat right? Just unscrew the fittings from the nozzle screw it in then screw in the fittings.

WRONG! turns out the hose fittings are brass and the Nozzles are aluminum and they are put together with a locktite thread sealer, and before you can flinch it twisted off!
OH did I mention this was Saturday night about 10pm? Exactly 1 week before the races! Well while SRAD is wringing his hands, I pick up the phone and Call Mike at Nitrous Express(Yes I have cell phone numbers, yes they said call ANYTIME, yes this was pretty desperate) No sweat a new Nozzle showed up Tuesday morning!
Next up was the install of the electrics. Nitrous Express set me up with one of their 2 dial Digital Nitrous Controllers.
This is really the heart of this setup. Without it I would hit the button and the system would dump 100hp worth of fuel and nitrous instantly and the tire isn't going to like that at all!
With the Digital Controller you can control what %age of your total hp jetting that the Nitrous starts off at. For instance if your jetted for 100hp and set the Digital Controller to come on at 25% it will start out with a 25hp spray. From what I understand it works by fluttering the solenoids open and closed very fast, allowing only 25% of the total volume to pass. It also controls the "ramp" or the amount of time it takes for the system to increase the hp until it reaches the full amount it's jetted for.
So keeping the #'s easy you could jet for 100hp, hit the gas, it comes on at 25%(25hp) and increases over 3 seconds to 100%(100hp).
Now everything is adjustable from starting %age to length of time to full power. Pretty cool huh?
Finally! Something I can do! I work with electronics all day building electric vehicle controllers so this is easy! As a bonus the instructions are pretty clear.

Well here's a pic of the tailsection, talk about "Junk in tha Trunk"! As you can see I tried to keep everything nice neat and wrapped to prevent a mess or abrasion.

Pretty much a nice neat clean install and a really nice fit!
The system is set up with an on off Rocker switch with a flip up cover to arm the system. Come on, really? Yeah I guess you can blame "The Fast and THe Furious" but you have got to have a "Cool" Nitrous arming switch! I mean the cool points went right off the meter when I installed that baby!hahahah.
There is a Wide open micro switch on the throttle bellcrank.

So it's a double failsafe you toggle has to be activated and then it only fires while the Throttle is pinned. Roll off or flip the switch and the system becomes inert.
This set up jetted for 100HP was good enough for me to get my 200mph T-Shirt. As a matter of fact I ran 201.534mph and had more but ran out of gearing. A second problem that we face with this setup is that at 100hp I am using 1.5lbs of nitrous from a 2.5lb bottle. This is 60% of my total volume in a few seconds so I'm losing bottle pressure due to volume loss and due to emptying so fast. Nitrous Express has offered me a few options, among them Nitrogen push and a larger bottle volume. Scott Guthrie always seems to have time to talk to me a really nice guy and he felt that a 5lb bottle would solve my problems.
But thats another story. where I'm at with this set up dialed in and fired up I ran 199mph straight out of the trailer and backed it up with a 201.534mph!

OK there's some updates a little laters but I'm taking a break

Marie just a caution here ............ make sure you only use the brass fittings on the fuel side as they are not pressure rated high enough for NOS pressures Pi_thumbsup
Another good failsafe is a pressure switch in fuel line .............. no fuel pressure = no NOS

Is nitrous oxide legal on a registered bike on the streets of Texas?

YES! To my knowledge there is only one state in Texas where it is illegal to have Nitrous on a street driven vehicle. SO FAR. I stongly suspect that it will spread eventually, but for now in Texas, yeppers it's legal!Clap

thank you marie for a totally interesting read on you LSR attempts it has been good to be able to keep up with what your doing to get the mighty busa faster to break that magic 200mph barrier. i along with many others i,d say wish you every success in what your doing and am looking forward to reading more on you trip to land speed records keep up the good work.
